| So from my understanding, the Ork nation grows rapidly due to the fungal spawning, but orks are killed frequently from fighting, but this causes even more orks to be born. Secondly the ork currency is their teeth, which they continually grow throughout their lifetimes. Wouldn't this lead to a ridiculous inflation rate in teef? New orks are always being "born", teeth are continuously being grown and spent. I would think this would create a rapidly expanding monetary supply. Do the teeth decompose after a while? This would make the most sense, otherwise by now anything would need to cost like a wheelbarrow of teeth to buy. |

This might have something to do with it.
I think I can remember reading something about "better" teeth being worth more. So perhaps most teeth around aren't worth much compared to teeth from a more aged Ork. _________________ Dark Angels 1750 win/loss Record Win - 23 (Belial helped wreck Ryan's puny Eldar) Loss - 13 (Brice's Necrons wiped me) Draw - 2 (The 13th hold out in alpha take and hold)

| Ever seen what Teef look like after a demolisher round to the face? Well I think you get my point, a lot of the teef just get destoryed with the fighting. Just what I always thought. |

| I see it as this. The Orks always have what they need. If an ork settlement needs teef then their teef grow a little faster. The economy of orks makes it so there is never a need to collect all the teef after a battle cause they are too busy gettin ready for the next scrap. THey have more important things to do. The Bad Moons Psychy works a little bit different putting a little more emphasis on teef and the need to flaunt. Remember if an Ork believes it to be it will be... Red ones go Fasta! Thats why crap works for them and not anyone else even if it is their technology and there is no reason why it should work! God I love Orks! Basically they aren't Capitalist pigs! lol _________________ The footprints made in the sands of time are not made by sitting down... Unless your playing Warhammer WAAAGH!

| As i can tell at the moment orks are not much in to a solid government none of the less economy so i don't think that it would matter much too then... plus even though more and more orks are born and more and more teeth are created there are a lot lost in places like dead planets, space battles, or if a large group of orks are killed off... plus i have to agree that larger or more aged teeth are more valuable so no any old tooth will work. god orks are great... and smart too! _________________ WIN:3 (Danny & Mack) LOSE:3 (700 points under)

Its not that orks aren't smart enough they actually know finances better than most as they grow what they need and only spend what they "need" _________________ The footprints made in the sands of time are not made by sitting down... Unless your playing Warhammer WAAAGH!

| OK, being an Ork player and having read through the Codex a bazillion times, along with other fluff, here's how I understand Ork teef: -For a toof to be used as currency, it has to be a long, ivory like tusk. Those humie teef are jsut too small to cut it! -Orks will go thorugh sets of teef several times a year, similar to a shark going through teef. In this way, an Ork is never poor for too long. Of course, if he's big and strong enough, he can always go beat the teef out of another Ork. -As mentioned in an earlier post, the Bad Moon clan's teef grow faster than the others, and thus are richer than most other Orks, born out of a need to flaunt impressive "teknologee." -Basic prices are something like this: one good toof will get you a squig pie and a tankard of fungus beer. A hunful of teef can get you a good shoota. Hundreds of teef will get you a battlewagon or some mega armor. -Ork teef do decay over time, thus helping to prevent inflation. I think that's about everything. WAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!! |
