Okay the book says I can give my Chosen four powerweapons but if I upgrade one to a sargent and give him one, will that count as one even though its a wargear item? I know it may sound obvious but i just cant figure it out lol

No, that's his wargear and not counted towards the squad's limit (unless you want it to).

Inability to comprehend why GW got rid all sense of uniqueness and individuality in new codexes.

It's not that bad, just different from the old stuff. I would bet it is more easily understood to complete newby that the old stuff.

I'm just saying that most of the people that I play with have a really hard time understanding why GW changed to the new codex format.
