| As an eldar craftworld was seizing control of planet EFC-322, a rebel band of orks intercepted a small eldar combat force. The force was destroyed only minutes after sending a signal to the craftworld Saim-Hann that the ork warboss Wazdakka was hiding out there. He had amassed a great force. The Craftworld then sent its most elite squadron, the eldar Windwhisper Host, to eradicate the ork infestation.. but Wazdakka had a surprise for the pompous aliens.. hoardes of red trukks wid lotsa VROOOOM!....

Set Up: Battle was a simple cleanse with table quarters. For all logic purposes i will explain all locations from my point of view, the lower left quadrant (quadrant 3 for anyone who remembers) of the board. There was very little cover in my quadrant except for one level 2 building 12 inches or so from the corner. Every eldar unit was deployed behind it, maybe 15 inches from the center of the table. Falcon was in front of the serpent, the guardian jetbikes were right up against the wall (but behind it), as were the shining spears with the farseer and jetbikes behind them. The spiders started in reserve, and the harlequins and avengers started the game in their respective transports. The orks set up as close to me as possible. Starting 6" away from the middle of the table, there were all the trucks as close to it as possible, with wazdakka right in the middle. The warbikers were behind the trukks with 1 unit on either side of a small hill. On this hill was placed 10 tankbustas and the shokk attack gun. Eldar won first turn, as each army started the game probably 30 inches away from eachother at least.
Turn 1 Eldar moved quickly, but did not want to get too close too soon. They had enough S6 firepower to topple those red trukks, so they tried. One trukk was immobilised, and another destroyed. a few casualties. The one that was destroyed careened foreward, allowing orks to get out about 18 inches away from my lines. those orks were pinned. The Windwhisper host spread out, only to get into better position for next turn.
Da Boyz gottsta get closa! Da red trukks went vroom! as fast as dey go! floor it!! The ork Red Trucks turboboost if they can, as does wazdakka. Shokk attack gun scatters away from the fortuned unit of warlocks. Trukks were 12-15 inches away at this point. One was (looking at the table from the top) on the bottom a few inches from the board edge, while the others were more in the middle. We had dem elvez shurroundid!!! Wazdakka shoots at the falcon and keeps it from shooting next turn.
Turn 2 The Eldar must use their firepower to rid themselves of these vile ork trukks, and the greenskins will simply go down with them. A complicated turn... falcon moves away from the battle. The wave serpent makes its move and drops the dire avengers. Maybe 20 or 30 orks were on foot at this point. Guardians move up to pick and pop. The warlocks and farseer move up to the unit of pinned orks. Farseer unsuccessfully throws his spear, while the warlocks fry the unit then back away. Warp Spiders deep strike behind their lines, by the hill, and kill shokk attack big mek. The guardian jetbikes (after unsuccessful attempts with the vyper) pop the trukk on the bottom of the board near the table edge, and it careens off the table. On the upper flank, the eldar expected orks to be swarming soon. Wazdakka was intercepted by shining spears plus autarch, and eradicated. avengers shuricat plenty of orks to death.
Da Boyz is gettin shot et!! Wazdakka is down! We'z gotta get dem fo' dis! The orks strike back. Many get out and start shootin! The tankbustas shoot down the wave serpent. The rest of da boyz shoot up dem lance boyz and the diya avenga boyz. Spears gone, only an autarch left. Maybe 3 avengers eat it. Shokk attack gun forgets to shoot this turn, i believe. We needs ta get closa!!!
Turn 3 The Windwhisper smells blood. The falcon is all better, and moves into the fray.. popping a red trukk (boyz were already out, i think). Wave Serpent is reduced to nothing, but avengers wipe a unit of 10 down to 2. Autarch makes his way from the upper side of the battle to the one on the right. The Eldar have a lot of greenskins to kill, and the bikes are closing in! THe warp spiders shoot and wipe the entire unit of tankbustas. Farseer and warlocks zip up and burn 10 or so orks (terrible roll on that one! ). The Autarch intercepts one of the 2 bike units. He defeats them in close combat, they flee, and he runs them down! The farseers and warlocks back up, of course, into some cover. maybe 25 orks remain on foot, a bike unit and one trukk.
We iz gettin hit hard! WAAAAAGGH!!! The Orks pop the head off a warlock (with shooting). The remaining unit of bikes moves behind falcon and blocks exit. They then shoot it up, immobilize it, then charge it and kill it, along with the harlies inside. Excellent play on the part of Makari. Everone quit complaining about cheese! haha THATS how you take down 450 pts of transport and sick CC unit! Tankbustas shoot at spiders and get one. The orks charge the farseer and warlocks in cover (the last 12-15 orks). No warlocks die, and slice open 2 orks. They pass leadership, and do not flee.
Turn 4 The Eldar will prevail. As we dream, so shall it be! We ARE death incarnate. The farseer dooms the unit of bikers. Vyper, Guardian Jetbikes, Autarch, and 3 remaining dire avengers go after the biker unit and light it up as much as possible. Shooting of all that puts 1 wound on a biker. Autarch jumps in and kills 2 whole bikes (3 wounds). Nothing else phases them (jetbikes and avengers charged, too). The bikes attack back -1 attack because of avengers. One biker squeezes the frail body of an eldar dire avenger through the sharp blades of his powerclaw. However the bikers lose combat, break, and get run down by autarch again. Farseer and warlocks stay alive and kill another ork, after the warp spiders aid them in the melee against orks. Orks strike back adn get a spider, but then break. The battle is over.
Planet EFC-322 was secure again and in control of the Eldar. Wazdakka was located and eliminated, without taking large casualties. The Ork tide of greenbacks was thwarted. However, in this universe, whenever one WAAAGH ends, anothers wheels start turning....
Overall I was truly frieghtened by an army that was fast like mine, especially with so many more tough mean infantry! I would say the main reason that I was able to win was I used everything in my army against what I had intended its use to be. The harlies never saw action which was dissappointing because i havent played them in a long time, however the spears were used perfectly, the warlocks and farseer were used as a hard-to-kill unit with heavy flamers, tank killyness, and an overall great support unit for everything else, the guardian jetbikes, vyper, and wave serpent eliminated light vehicles, the autarch was my star and his CC potential was utilised perfectly, and the warp spiders created havoc behind their lines.
Great battle Makari, and compliments to your best attempt to do speek freaks in 4th edition. Awesome stuff!

| Awesome awesome game... The speed freaks will be back with a vengence! I now know what to work on to help close the jaws on my opponents.... Ok so I'm working on it...
