Anyone else feel a big old letdown on the new DE range?

No new Dark Riders..

No new plastic character box ala Empire, High Elf, etc..

Characters they DID redo are rubbish..

Just a quick rant on the line. I wont even get into the book Rolling Eyes

I'm glad I moved onto Empire instead of waiting. Nice going Gav...

I know, I was contemplating starting DE, but now I'm not so sure

I dont know what was so wrong with the last version of the cold ones. I liked em. The riders horses could be better, perhaps a bit of converting would help. I do like the regular troop models and the witches. they have been decent since last release. The hydra looks to be an improvement but I would need to have hands on to really tell.
Since I've been out of fantasy for a long long time I would need to see how the new rules preform of course. Have you looked over the rules for them and if so is the new rules and improvement or what?
I'm kinda concerned because I had liked the army and was thinking of playing them.

I can let you know in a few weeks, I ordered the spearhead and it comes with a book

I just bought two units of cold one knights and some new corsairs and they seem good to me. I also got the Army Book as well. All this at Chicago Games Day

I have the spearhead, even though the new coldone knights look cool and I perfer plastic, they are still stupid and will almost never be part of my army. I like the look of the new corsairs and Hydra and they will almost always be part of any Dark Elf army I field.
