| | amazing mechanics if you ask me. Sigma Golem has been my teacher and playing buddy so far. We are both constructing armies outside of what we have now (Therians). He is doing Red Blok and I am doing Karmens. I can ask him if we can make our Thurs game at Sci- Fi City so it can be a demo of sorts and ou can check it out. The sky seems to be the limit for this game from what I have seen with missions and campaigns. Yea and no Transformer hats just beanies with autobot and decepticon logos. Let us know if you wanna check it out Thursday |

Those are specifically build for people to either buy into a new army or start playing WFB all together. Not to mention they are fun because there are just different dynamics building a smaller force. |

| Is Mighty Empire the current hex based map campain? If so I believe there is a way to marry the two.
Escalation leagues were listed in White Dwarf over a year ago, maybe two years at this point. We played some at World of Hobbies and Games before the crew there started college and summer stuff one year.
What their goal was to adjust some of the rules to allow for smaller points and units. For instance the unit minimums become half rounded up of the old value, only one artillery, limits on magical items so that people don't just work on a munkin character. Limit on how many points can be spent on characters so people have to field some peons to back them up.
I will endeavor to dig up the rules. They are somewhere around here. |

| PS
And the big idea was to start low like 200AP and on a weekly or bi-weekly basis increase the values. One option actually had the increase based on win/loss. It is good way to learn the rules (or refresh in my case) and more so to get a personal feel for an army and how it might play or react against other figures. |

| Min units are rounded up,from older version, does this mean the new AB do not count,or they do. _________________ Warhammer Dwarf player |

| I believe there are official rules akin to the 40k combat patrol rules somewhere.
I will have a look for them when I have more time. _________________ Dark Angels 1750 win/loss Record Win - 22 (The Dark Angels wiped some silly pod marines) Loss - 13 (Brice's Necrons wiped me) Draw - 2 (The 13th hold out in alpha take and hold)

| That sounds cool, but would the table size also have to be smaller for a 200 point game verse a 500 point game? _________________ Warhammer Dwarf player |

| For most people who aren't complete beginners, it's just a way to get more minis and a nice compact rulebook. _________________ Dark Angels 1750 win/loss Record Win - 22 (The Dark Angels wiped some silly pod marines) Loss - 13 (Brice's Necrons wiped me) Draw - 2 (The 13th hold out in alpha take and hold)

With 40K I prefer the next step down and use the old Kill Team rules from White Dwarf. They had to dumb it down and simplify for the new rulebook. It just didn't sparkle anymore. |

Starting low is defiantly the way to go. Warhammer Fantasy Battles get's very tactical as the points go up so getting a general feel in small skirmishes helps to avoid a bigger game where one accidental or bad luck mistake causes the whole game to collapse.
An incorrect pursuit move costed me a game a big game because my general on dragon got rolled by some puny armored human knights. With Vampire Counts if the general die the whole army starts to crumble fast. At that point I just congratulate the winner on stopping my evil scheme and scoop my army rather than do the pathetic crumbling act.

Matt has it nailed with the beginners and more models bit. Never needed it myself. But glad you went bank on so many Dwarfs. |

Either way...I have 2k in HE ready for battle... _________________ Disclaimer: Everything I say is meant to be used in a fun and joking manner. Can't deal with it? Grow a ball sack!
