| I've been playing around with a few borrowed armies from serious players for a little while now, and I have to ask, why can you choose NOT to overrun with chariots? It just doesn't make sense to me, going high speed, running into/over a bunch of people, then suddenly stopping. The laws of physics shouldn't allow it. _________________ Insanity is only measured by those around you.

| It's GAMESWORKSHOP The Chariot could have slowed down just enough to do it's impact hits and couldn't build up enough speed to run down? If you try to apply the laws of physics to ANY gamesworkshop game you'll go insane... | | Aww, it's not that improbable. Yeah you're going to hit the opposing unit with some speed, but the impact will slow you down, and if they break and run away you don't have to spur the "horses" or whatever animal on to pursue, you could wheel back around pretty easily |

| Hey, I'm just saying it seemed weird to me when I first heard it. Just like chariots dying if they overrun into a second enemy unit. _________________ Insanity is only measured by those around you.

| Historically, you are correct, on the ancient battlefield a chariot that stopped was usually a dead chariot. Historically, there weren't many dragons either. Gamesworkshop just wanted to keep the rules easy and close to balanced in their point of view. Take the High Elvan Lion Chariot or Chaos Chariot, if they could do drive-bys, you would have to double their cost. I am not familiar with all the fantasy armies but I know of 2 units that don't have to stop when they charge. Chaos has a flying unit that does a fly-by attack and Wood Elves has Hawk Riders that do a hit and run. |
