On page 144 of the 5th Ed Space Marine Codex, the model in the upper right corner has the caption "Ultramarines Sternguard Veteran Sergeant with storm bolter and power sword." Is this an actual model that can be purchased or is it something one of the GW guys made with extra bits? I've never seen this model except in the codex. Don't think I've seen that storm bolter arm or a SM helmet with a crest.

ACME Games is hosting a tournament similar to our Dreadnought bash (which had 10 participants). This time around it's characters that take center stage. The rules are:

A single character model (non-vehicle). You can choose a named character out of a codex or make one using the appropriate entry from your codex (ie build your own chapter master using the legal equipment from his list). No retinues, bodyguards, shield drones... it's just a single model.

No points limit. The model must ...

I have plastic terminators that are one piece with clip on arms like they came out of a starter box. They are similar to the terminators in the black reach box, but crappier.

I thought they came from Space Hulk, but I recently saw some old Space Hulk terminators, and they don't look like those at all.

Where did these terminators come from?

They look like the ones in this ebay auction:

Cause I don't like the huge 40mm bases, and I'll be using mine most often in Space Hulk anyway, where the smaller base size will be better for game play in the tight rooms and halls.

So if I choose to base my Black Reach termies on 25mm for Space Hulk, will it really matter if they were used in 40K?

Look into it if you are looking to pick a fight next weekend 6/20. It is being held at Dicehead Games in Tennesse, so it is a drive. But there will be a ton of great armies. Maybe 80-100 competators. It is going to be a good one.

So on the GW web site, it's spelled Kasrkin.

But on the models that came in the boxed set I just got, on the base rail it says KSARKIN

These miniatures were pressed in 2003 according to the date on the other side.

I don't have a copy of any of the older IG codexes or whatever White Dwarf introduced the Ksarkin/kasrkin.... did they spell it differently in print back then? Or did they just mess ...

I've had this model since 1990 or so.

I got it from the guy who first introduced me to Warhammer 40K. He told me back then that this was an early space marine design from Rogue Trader days. I've tried to compare it to the various generations shown here:

http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Space_Marine_Transition_Collectors_Guide#Mark_I_Marines

But haven't been able to make a direct comparison.

Maybe it's an actual Rogue Trader?

April Apocalypse at ACME Games

April's game takes place Sunday, April 19th.

2500-point increments, setup starts at noon, first dice rolled around 1:00.

As always, Forge World and Imperial Armour stuff are legal. GW released data sheets are legal. We strongly encourage people to bring lists that are balanced, flavorful and in the spirit of the game... but we also encourage you to bring the pieces that you can't field in a normal game too.
