They made a short movie back in the late 90's that they showed at Gen Con in Milwaukee... the Marine Costumes were fantastic, but I didn't see enough of them to know how good the rest of the film was.

That's pretty much exactly why. I know 40k fans have their hopes up, but there isn't any reason to expect anything decent here.

This is a straight-to-video company doing a straight-to-video movie. You can expect straight-to-video quality.

Look at the D&D movies, Mutant Chronicles, the Starship Troopers sequels, Bloodrayne 2, and the Bionicle movies. That's where the bar is set. And that's about as good as it gets with the kind of budget these people are working with.

I agree with Mike. The only way were gonna get a good 40k movie is if we get about a couple billion bucks and make 2 1/2 hours long give er take.
