PostSubject: A Few Good Games   Sat Apr 05, 2008 11:57 pm

Im looking for your opinion on a few good games to play with my wife. Since I hope you dont know her, I will tell you, she is filled with strategy, fast pace, and she has a bit of titian in her. She is also a leval 70 druid,if that helps.

We have played the first full campaign of Desent, the board game. So any dunguean stye games need to be at this leval, or better.

I was thinking of Catan. Is this a good game. And if so, what is the best version to start off with?

Im drawing a blank myself. The only thing I focus on is my games, and thats really not helping matters.

I cannot speak for starfarers or whatever it is called, but settlers is a great game. The only problem is, if you play the numbers, you will lose.

I second the Settlers!
My wife really enjoys Lord of the Rings Risk... not too bad.
Fluxx is a good card game that might be good.
And of Course the Star Wars Life Game was actually entertaining with strategy needed.

Well....Settlers sucks as a two-player game. If she did like Descent, Runebound is actually pretty decent.

Other solid two player games include:

Carcassonne: The Castle
Blue Moon
Blue Moon City
Mr. Jack

Also, FFG is coming out with a World of Warcraft Adventure Game which looks promising, but who knows when exactly it is coming out.

We already have Bluemoon City, and Runebound. Rounbound has been played quite a bit now, and blue moon city is ok as well.

Thanks.

I picked up a board game called "Age of the Empires" The age of discovery.

Its really cool. The goal is to build huge and powerful colonys and be able to maintain them throughout, while gaining VP throughout the game. Money, food , trading goods, army, ect.

It took my wife and I around 5 hours to play are first game, thats including reading the directions and set-up, and one Starbucks pit stop. Gotta have the Mocha.

Very neat looking board and features. Its not a shoot them up game at all. But if stretegy and power is your thing, oh and high stress levals, then this is your game.

I like the game a good bit, its fun. I really didnt think I would like it at first, but after playing a few rounds, it became a mission to build the best colonys. Laughing

Thanks for the Tip...
