Flamers = not good. Why flamers, you have to be within 8" to use them. Or are you going for the "I think I can assault tau"?

my comand squads role is to kill light infantry. my plan is to get them close, unload burst cannon and flamer hell, then jump back (via jetpack)

That might work, but if they are numerous (nids) or elite-ish (marines) then they will probably charge you the next turn to keep that unit tied up. Besides that, many people are spacing out thier models so you won't be able to hit as many of them with the flamer template.

If nothing else, concentrate on the Synapse guys, then go for the little ones while they don't automatically pass all Ld tests. Other than that, can't really help you, tau is an army that I do not play, do not plan on playing, and even though I consider it the most balanced, I dislike it with every fiber of my being. So I'll be pretty happy if they get munched by Nids. Twisted Evil

I'd watch for getting close, I agree that flamers aren't too handy on a tau model. As even with the jump in and out you won't make enough distance to avoid assault.

If you have Crisis suits within Flamer range you've already lost.

Nothing wrong with Missile Pod/Burst Cannons there Rhino, though I'd go 2 : 1 of Plasma : Burst

The biggest thing with the BS's is to know everything you enemy is capable of... movement wise. Marc knew that My LT's could charge out the way they could, and it still hurt him when it happened.

Not knowing this can lose you games. Some examples are: first turn charge 13th company bikers/wolves, almost anything with beast movement, chaos models with demonic speed (not viable for much longer).

This is a major rule with tau in general, but even more so with the BS's... because if they get caught in assault, it is normally very very costly.

The only problems i see is you rely on armour to do major killing. When I play my tau i play a as close as I can get pure crisis suit army for hvy I take sniper drones and broadsides and I also use twin linked plasma rifles on my suits as they have proven good for me aganist almost anything both numbers and high quality for my hq and body gaurds/ commander of the squads and just twin plasma for the lower guys and of course I max out sheild drones on every suit. also I am not a big fan of kroot I have had bad experance with them just costing me point space. I also minimize all the troops choices i takeas they are not useful for my list......I also go into close comabt with my suits which work unless i fun into a super hq squad with 40-60 power weopen attacks(choas hq.......with chosen for a squad killed them 3-5 times over) I also agree with your choic on parinhas I normal take 3 as my fast attack choices(each one seprately) but thats my 2 cents.....ok maybe 10

I can attest to the effectiveness of Frostwolf's tactics and choices. I once hit his command squad with 3 plasma cannons, each guy had two shield drones, I dealt 10 wounds to him, and he saved 8! Was not a happy time for my marines (especially when they got whuped in cc next turn).

you have alot of easy meat on the board...if any....drop one of the kroot squads and toss in another fire warrior squad. Kroot are good....but not that good. I'd add a 4th pirahna.....theres another fusion blater as well as dual carbines......a 5 squad pirahna team will do more damage thena squad of kroot. Especailly if it see's monoliths and destroyers on the board.

I love the suit lists!!!! Crisis suits are da bomb!!! HOWEVER....ditch those flamers and give them plasma or missle pods......flamers...BAH!

I like the Kroot, they offer a very nice speed bump as well as a useful counter infiltration unit.

Just ask Marc how much they have helped him...
