| I have a potential dilema and would like it to be as fair as possible and I need suggstions if I'm not being fair.
I am the main organizer behind the Cincinnati 40K tourney. I posted on here my list of what I would use if I had to play in the tournament. The only way I would play is if we had an odd number of players and didn't have someone to play against the odd person. The reason I posted my list was for the players so they would see what I would playing. seeing as I have people sending me their lists so I can look over them for inaccuracies before the tournament. It was brought to my attention that requiring the list before hand is not the norm. Granted I have not played in too many tournaments but every one I did play in required that. I am asking for them sooner than the tournament so I will have time, as I do not have enough knoweldgeable volunteers to help me comb through them on the day of the tourney.
I basically wanna know what the general concensus is about this. I want to do what will be the best for the tournament. So critique away.
Thank-you | |

| i think its just a sticky situation. i would definitely keep it the way it is though. you gotta have an even number of players. how we used to do it is have a set number of spots OR have sign ups end a few days before the tourney.
dont change anything.. its necessary to have an even number of players. who cares if your list is hard? we got a few mech eldars players, gun line cheese marines, horde orks, big bugs and more.. dont be afraid to play strong. Its your tournament anyways dude you deserve to play more than any of us. | |

| Agreed, it's not a GT or anything... so its no big deal if you end up playing a strong list (plus you are a terrible general anyway ). Plus, taking no prizes is a good deal anyway. If you end up coming 1st 2nd or 3rd we can just bump the 3rd place prize to 4th place and so on. | |

| Agreed. At the Ard boyz last year, it sucked getting that bye. I would have rather played for my points then getting free points. I'm here to game, not sit and watch. | |

| It's totally not a GT or anything of that caliber, but you're missing the point of being a ringer. But like they said it's YOUR tourney, do as you wish, but remember being the first, you're setting the presidence for future tourneys. Bring that list on, I'd be more than happy to spank it. I'm done responding about this issue, I just want to friggin' play! | |

| Your home is not my home for every day gaming. I'm talking about the tourney. My son had a guitar recital yesterday, so I'm playing today. | |

| When I said "home" I ment your usual place of play, such as store, club or house. He plays acoustic, about 8 months now. He idolizes Jerry Garcia (one of the best ever). | |

| I personally agree with Hand of Dume. If you are trying to be the "ringer" you should have a small elite army that can finish the game early. You are probably the only Judge and if there are rules arguements and you get pulled away from a game it wont be fair. If we only play 3 turns and I get stuck with a draw because you are gone for a half hour or more taking care of business I will be very pissed. I have never seen a tournament organizer play in their own event it just doesnt set well with most gamers. I have also never handed in an army list before showing up at a tournament. I will volunteer to check list as people show up so you can do what you need, then you just have to check mine.

| Problem solved. there is a second judge. Prereg ended today and we are at an even number of people. The early list is a must for me, and it is not an uncommon request. | |
