| I think that the sharpshooter rule means that any rolled ones can be rerolled.... Doesn't matter how many you get... At least, that's me without my codex at work... does that sound right to everybody else? | |

| if the squad has sharpshooters, any rolls of 1 to hit may be re-rolled. Note this does not work with plasma weaponary because of get hot! | |

| Doesn't work with Sniper weapons either. Only BS3 figures, tragic really because BS4 vets or Stromtroopers with it would have been pretty sweet.
Personally I love it with Lascannons. Nothing like having a guardsman hitting on a %75 verses a Space Marine on %66.6

Err I left out a part on this. A good number of my misses on Lascannons were on a '1' and then a sucess on the re-roll. Sharpshooter does not actually improve a BS 3 above or even equal to BS 4. "Luck," was being factored in. The actual statistical odds are the probability of success on the first roll plus the probabitly of rolling a '1' times the probability of success. Win = .5 + (0.16666 repeating X .5). Win = 0.58333 repeating or %58, better than the normal %50 and certainly not any better than the %67 BS4 gets.

That is a rough road to travel. Playing the grunt army is cool and all but a competitive IG force is something different. Not to mention the next edition might even make my favored force not so hot anymore. We can talk about some of this in person sometime, I generally don't like to throw too much intel online.

| I'd wait a bit Bruce... IG are close to the top of the rumored release pile.
Plus the big rumor is plastic great coat guardsman!
Makes sense though, their codex is pretty poor. It needs a big hand.

| Well, I just got into the Guard myself, but THANKFULLY I've gotten most of my stuff in bulk from eBay or other gamers getting rid of their stuff, so other than the Baneblades and the hellhound and a few misc blisters I've got, I haven't gotten a lot of it anywhere near full price...
But, hopefully 5th edition doesn't screw them too much! They are already woefully underpowered overall, and if they screw the pooch with them some more, I may NEVER win a game with them!!
Oh, back on topic... I had forgotten about the "reroll once" thing... So, if you roll 7 "1"s, you can reroll them. But, if you get a one again, then you can't reroll...

Correct. No dice in wither 40K or WFB can ever be re-rolled more than once. In fact many special rules that allow a re-roll on to-hit or wound only allow the effect on one or the other. Once upon a time re-roll were unlimited with proper sources. They have long since got rid of that.

The no re-rolling a re-roll is in the front of the main books. The only getting a re-roll on to-hit or to-wound is trend, not a standing rule as it varies.

| If I've learned one thing about Bruce, it's that he is almost always sarcastic, and to never take much at face value. | |

| Unfortunately online does not help with things like sarcasm or anything that uses tone and body language. Emotes have been to say the least and interesting stop-gap. | |

| so the FAQ just says yea cant reroll if you get a 2nd one so any 1 you get on a sharpshooter unit can be rerolled as long as you havent already rerolled that dice roll. that clears that one up(the UK site's faqs do not open right so I had to hunt them down on the US site which is a pain) | |
