| What is a good point value to start at for learning/playing? I'm trying to lay out my painting schedule and want to know what to prioritize.
Thanks in advance for the answers. |

| I say 1000, some people will say lower.. but I don't think you get a good feel for the rules or missions at lower point values.
Plus if you have played other miniature games the rules will come to you a lot easier.

| I agree with Matt that 1000 is a good goal. I recommend trying to get a few combat patrols just to get the basic game mechanics, but like he said if you have played other games it won't be hard. | |

| I agree with the other two. 1K is easiest to learn at. | |

| Combat Patrol is also good for just seeing how a unit type generally handles. Not a bad way at all to avoid spending a bunch of cash on something you change your mind about.
Just be wary since 40K does scale a lot based on the points for different armies. What works for one army at 1K can be radically different at 1750.
John M if this is a modeling craft-thing for you, if you enjoy the first bunch of games then long term plan up at least 1750 or 2K to be comfortably set for tourneys and general play.

| Dude, J...you can handle Infinity! 2K is easy money! My first game of 4th was 3K against 4.5K nothing like learning with a trial by fire! | |
