Eldar Pathfinders Empty
PostSubject: Eldar Pathfinders   Eldar Pathfinders EmptyMon Jul 14, 2008 8:49 am

While referencing my handful of Codex as I go thru the new rules I just wanted a quick clarification on these Eldar scum..

On a 5-6 to hit they are AP1 but still need a 4+ to wound.
On any that hit on a 3-4 will count as AP1 on a 6 to wound.

Thoughts?

yeah since the rending roll was moved over to the "to wound" dice this is a little strange.

It's exactly as you say though. Just gives them more chances to rend as far as i can tell. Perhaps this will get FAQ'd?

so i havent had a rulebook to even look this up in.. but from what ive heard "sniper" weapons now have rending

eldar codex pg 38

"in a pathfinder unit, any shooting roll to hit of 5+ counts as having AP 1."

Ranger Long Rifle - AP 6 Heavy 1, Sniper, Pinning

so yeah in my book that means that hits of 5,6 get ap1 on a 4 or better to wound, and hits of 3,4 get rending, and wound regularly on a 4+

I try to bring at least five in every battle. Because, you never know? And yes, there may be a little cheese on there. I did not write the book, I only follow it!!! Very Happy

So... these are the potential dice rolls that would result in a Pathfinder shot wounding.

3 4, 3 5, 3 6
4 4, 4 5, 4 6
5 4, 5 5, 5 6
6 4, 6 5, 6 6

So 3/4 of all their wounding shots are AP1. That's... nice
