That Voice of God guy has died.

Don LaFontaine almost single-handedly , over 40 years changed the way that movie trailers were created and voiced.

By-the-way, there is a similar sounding voice over actor that works out of New York. The other guy was LaFontaine's main competition. Don was known at time as the west coast voice wile the other guy was the East coast voice of god.

You're thinking of Hal Douglas.

Don is the first one in the car and does most of the narrating.
Nick Tate - used to be a regular on SPACE 1999 and was recently in a 1st season episoide of "LOST" (and IS Australian)

The voice on the phone that Don blows off, Hal Douglas was his main East Coast competition, sometimes referred to as the "East Coast Voice of God".

That's sad but its amazing how many people knew his voice but didn't know who it belonged to.
