| Hey. The names Jimmy jam. Been called this since I was a kid. Love to play guitar. I've been playing 40k for about 6 years. Just moved to University of Dayton to go to school from Oakland, CA. I've been observing this site (month and 1/2) since I sent out a search for local game stores. There are a few stores closer, but not good sites to browse. This site seems to cover a wide selection of stores. Basically I'm looking for a solid group to game with and don't mind traveling a few miles if it's worth it. I play Dark Eldar. I have about 3000 pts worth. There are groups back home tend to be accepting if you're new, but if you're not a part of their close niche'of players, tend to segregate the newbie. I'm hoping that your group is not this way. Though browsing on your site have noticed that some postings are not answered. Why is this? I feel all postings should be answered, even if it's short and sweet. Do some rub others the wrong way? Sorry for the questions, but I want to play with a group that is equally open to everyone of all skill levels and experience. Thanks | |

| You have come to the right group if you want to feel welcomed. Come out to one of the stores listed in the make a date section and you can see first hand! | |

hmmm. A lot of postings that remain unanswered are just anouncement posts. I hate to say it but if you respond to everything then it really just becomes spam and may diminish the significance of when you have something really good to share. For the most part (and this is hard to do) I try to post when I have something construtive to add to the community. I don't believe there are any outcasts...but I might be one. Regardless, this is a good gaming group. Most will meet you for a pick up game when they have time and it doesn't feel exclusive. I've been shown the ropes of GW games over the last 2 months by some guys. When I get a chance to get outta the house everyone is friendly. Only thing negative is there aren't enough Infinity players in the group (yet), but hey not every group can be perfect. John oh...since you are at UD have you been up to Krystal Keep yet? curious b/c I game up there sometimes too. |

| Welcome Jimmy! Glad to have you on board. I am a sometimes student at UD and will be again in January. We'll definitely have to get some games in between classes during my excursion days from Cincy up to Dayton.
Krystal Keep is a very nice place to play and they run a lot of tournaments. They also have a forum, although it might not be quite as gregarious as ours.
I thought most posts get answered. Certainly almost all of the Make a Date one do. I guess an armylist can slip through the cracks sometimes expecially if no one can think of anything valueble to say.
I will say that some of the AT-43 posts have gone unanswered. I attribute this to lack of interest in that game as a whole on this board. But most of the other sections seem to generate lively conversation. | |

| Welcome man! I would say just as the others did that if posts aren't answered, then maybe there is nothing constructive to add. The Krystal Keep is a good place to play and as a matter of fact there is a Rogue trader tourney this sunday. Stop by and introduce yourself. The forum isn't the greatest, but the store is fantastic with friendly players and staff. | |

| Welcome to the area, like Dume said the Krystal Keep rocks. Saturday is the big day for 40k but the people are in and out everyday and I think that is why the forum doesn't get as many hits because the players end up talking face to face at the store and it can't be more than 20 minutes from UD. As Dume stated there is a RTT this Sunday and a team tournament the following weekend. Check the events section for additional events, next month there is a mega-battle which uses Apocolypse rules and models. . There are generally several of those thru the course of the year, I think that is the 3rd or 4th mega-battle this year. | |

| Thanks for the response. I've heard of the Crystal Keep. It sounds like a good store. I'll stop in sunday and check it out. It seems that the store sci fi city is a good store also. I haven't played much Apocolypse, but would definately give it a try. I love tourney play, does sci fi city run alot of tourneys also? The competition seems more fierce in a tournement environment. But then again it attracts shall we say "not so friendly's". Gotta take the good with the bad. | |
