The FAQ to the actual... rulebook?

cheers

e: The shafting that some old codicies get regarding Designated Transports is kinda silly.

Fluff wise makes sense though... only officers or particular units only...

Probably will be changed in the new dex though!

Have you seen the new Dark Angel errata/FAQ they put up the same day as this?

http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1810079_DarkAngels_Oct_2008_5th_Edition_FAQ.pdf

It addresses the issue with all the wargear and vehicles in the new Marine codex having different effects than gear with the same name from the DA/BA/BT codexes. It pretty much says other chapters can eat sh-t. Buy more smurfs.

Yeah, if you track some of the bigger forums discussion about the DA codex has been pretty popular.

It seems pretty gutless to say "yeah, we know wargear should really be the same between space marine chapters and we'll encourage you to adjust it amongst yourselves, but we're not really going to so it isn't valid in tournaments"

And really DA and BA only need like five changes:

Land raider and drop pod capacity
Cyclone missile launcher fire rate
Storm Shields

There are a few more I can't think of at the moment.

No, they don't need and shouldn't get all the new goodies as they aren't balanced for them and it is nice to have all the rest of the chapters have some of their own cool stuff, but "my land raider is bigger than your land raider" is just weird

It is the DA cloaks that take up all the room. Perfectly sensible to me.

Yeah, I think someone on BOLS said that DA raiders had to have a sword rack and a robe closet
