| The new WOW miniatures game is a blast, and several of us in Dayton are getting together for unsanctioned booster drafts on thursday, friday and sunday at three different stores.
Thursday - Krystal Keep - 937-299-2809 - 6:00 PM Entry fee $30.00 - Each player will draft 5 miniatures and play with three each round, from the same faction. Boosters for prize support. Having your own starter set for dice and maps is appreciated, otherwise bring some ten sided dice. Starters will be available at the store.
Friday - Bell Book and Comic - 937-643-9006 - 7:00 PM Entry fee and prizes to be determined, though we are pretty sure we'll be getting the release promo kit with way cool stuff! Having your own starter set for dice and maps is appreciated, otherwise bring some ten sided dice. Starters will be available at the store.
Sunday - Bookery - 937-879-3940 - 12:30 PM Entry fee $30.00 - Each player will draft 5 miniatures and play with three each round, from the same faction. Boosters for prize support. Having your own starter set for dice and maps is appreciated, otherwise bring some ten sided dice. Starters will be available at the store.
Please call the respective stores for more info, write back here, or call Kevin Kirby at 937-253-0869 or Allen Burkes at 937-768-3178. We look forward to some Azeroth stomping good times!

| all in all they don't look any worse than the monsterapocalyps figs (Though the Ork and Tree thing do look pretty lame)
At first I thought the mechanic was neat- with a "timmer"/damage Dual dial but it's overly simplistic - and an almost complete rip of WK dial mechanic
they do allow for 2 Diffrent "Styles" to play one is slightly more compedative (and Extreemly similar to WK)
but both seem to lend quickly to the Beer and Pretzles Bin of "Ho-hum" (boring) games... Matt at Yotta Quest got a Promo "Starter Kit" if anybody is interestedin a look-see and a SE Card for the card game if you ask
I'm sure the boys over at ACME will be doing some demos and giving it a good try

Agreed!! As I havent played the WOW minitures version yet, and don't plan on it (im up to my eyebrows in wow stuff), The ruleset for monsterapocalyps seem to be very fun, and extreamly tactful when you push the game to higher levals of play. I'm stilll really disapointed with Priveteer Press ppp gaming section(as far as the minitures). What bugs me about WOW is, they have so much money, and punch out so much product, in some areas, like this, they just really don't care about quality over productions. But hey, If I was making money hand over fist, I would'nt either.......

| See...I'll disagree slightly here.
I think the MonPoc figs look really nice. The airbrushing on the Monster figs is well done, the larger Unit figs look really nice.
The WoW Minis just look bad. Very bland paint schemes, details that are nearly non-existent.

meh... My point is, looking at BOTH sets side by side the miniatures quality and paint executution is negledgable true the WoW mins are on the lesser side- and as with Comics good Story will carry bad Art a good game will carry bad sculpts I think most of us will agree WoW falls short

| Touche', sir. I do, however, thing the ruleset of the WoW minis game has some potential. I initially thought the ring idea was a gimmick, but it seems to work well. Also, I won't lie: I'm kind of excited to see how the end up doing instances. could be VERY cool. | |

| I've seen worse....called early DnD mini's....and some of the Starwars stuff seemed pretty bad. If your a fan....you'll buy them to play the game. I'm a fan....got a starter and 4 boosters coming my way......I like the game mechanics. It's basically the TCG with minis'....... | |

| My question is, how much would a regular WOW player, like the Tabletop version end of the game? | |

It works like this (Sumerizing) choose magic/special ability (Totally making up details of abilities) magic missle is chosen- cost 5 turn dial 1 to "5" roll for damage attack magic missle cannot be used again until ACTION turn 5- (sort of like charging up you Mana to do it again, get it?) What I do not like is the win tactic if I bring in a little elf for 5 points all I got to do is kill an equivlent of my squad if you brought a big squad SUPER EASY for me! SUPER HARD for you! Also you are VERY limited in your power options and synergy if you are waiting on turn 5... you are stuck if sombody uses a simple low power combo with simple characters you're stuck fighting uphill battles with Iconic characters

| Well this seems pretty straight forward. Is it possible to mix and match force construction like in Monsterpoc, or must I dedicate to one. I figure I must choose an allience of course. I'm on the fence with the TCG. | |
