I haven't finished the bases on these yet, but figured I'd share a little more of the Orks....

Ork mob Boyz

Ork mob Koptas

Ork mob Bikers

Ork mob Tankbustas

Then, of course, you remember these as well:
Warboss:
Ork mob Orkwarboss4

Big Mek (I've done a few touchups since this pic.... I guess I should have taken another one)
Ork mob Shokka

Pain Boy:
Ork mob Painboy

Mega Amour (some updates have been done to this one as well):
Ork mob %27eavyArmor

And, of course, the other Deff Kopta:
Ork mob _A213258

So, if you look at the Squigs, that's how I'm going to base all of these. Only bad thing is I'm out of Orks to paint!!!

niiiiiice....

you are definitely improving with each model!

You might want to work on the nobz checkerboard (on the jaw piece)

Looks good other than that!

Any idea how you are going to base them? I'd do something that makes 'em pop... so maybe not green!

Whoops Smile

I think something a bit more interesting might be nice though.

Basing is the one thing that really makes or breaks a mini imo.

Yeah, Matt, I'll probably do more than just what the squigs have. But, I think overall, that's the look I want to start with. Maybe add some lichen to it or grass. Actually, I might even do a bit of snow if I get a chance to look into that technique that John uses (so, it has some gravel, then some snow on it).

Any ideas on the checkerboard? That was my first attempt at it, and I don't like how it turned out. For some reason I can't seem to get it to be as clean and as stand out as what's on the 'Eavy Metal models.....

I'll see what I can do about the group shot, Marc.

my only advice on the checker board is to lightly grid it out first, rather than to just try paint square by square.

Anything specific work really well for that on paint? Maybe a small tip artistic pen or the ilk?

Looks AWESOME!!

Only advice I have is more red. I may be a little partial though.

Red ones go faster!!!!!

I actually grid it out with paint, but I've only had to do it on the knee pads for my 4th company DA.

Not a space as large as the one you are doing.

Paint pen would probably work though, but you need to keep it really thin... otherwise the grid wont be clean.

Depends on the model for me. A basic trooper or vanilla model screams for some extra base love. Yet sometimes a fancy/detailed model can get by with a basic base.

Like this little fella here..

I think Marc is right. Sometimes people go over board with their bases that they actually take away from the greatly done Model.

Agreed, some people do go overboard.

I think that one marc posted would look better with some dead grass though.
