This is just an idea....
One day after a bunch of WARHAMMER players had left the store and I was about to close, I looked at the terrain tables and remembered there was an odd nuumber of players earlier - as a result the third person had to wait to play the winner of the game being played.
Here's the Idea:
A three way battle on our terrain tables that uses all 3 tables at once.
There would be a Defender army and two Attacker armies. The "DEFENDER" army sets up in the middle of the black cloth or middle table. The tw ATTACKER aremies start at opposite ends on the far ends of the green cloth tables.
The Defender player gets to set up the terrain building pieces any way that he or she likes in the middekle to represent a base or fortification that they have been ordered to hol "No matter what" ...until the last soldier cannot stand or fire - that kind of thing. (Maybe there could be a time limit of so many turns before a fictional air lift or re-inforcements arrive by air or spacedrop)
The attacker armies could either be allies or complete enemies of each other. If they are enemies of each other - then once the DEFENDER plasy is possibly over taken and defeated - the two remaining armies fight it out for the base or fortification. Its possibly that strategic or symbolic.
Victory or win is either given to the surviving army of all three -OR- the player that made their objective in the best way possible.
FOR EXAMPLE: If the Defender held out for enough turns for that airlift or reinforcements to happen - then that player is the winner. (If using that version of the idea)
Just an idea or brainstorm I had one night at the store.
This could work with either WARHAMMER 40L or WARMACHINE. (Heck, or even WH Fantasy or STAR WARS miniatures for that matter)
What do you folks think ?
