This list is made to give me several troop choices and the ability to hit things fairly hard and deal with a horde army. This will be a hard list to play but I feel it being well rounded will help it out.

I like it. A few things i'm worried about.

1 Lack of things to handle fast units. You don't want your boys hoofing it, being only 5 strong as well. Invest in rhinos maybe?

Lack of ranged power. You can be out shot. even with your special abilities. you may go down before your storm bolters can do thier jobs.

Lack of anti horde. Incinerators are good but no Horde player worth his Orks Would let You get more than one shot, and any ork player worth his green skin whould load a few units up in a truck or Gork forbid, a battle wagon. That brings me to my next point.

Complete lack of anti tank. I shudder to think what some cheap Kans, a battle wagon Or Nid Monsterous creatures may do.

The 3 termies I don't like. Point cost is simply too high and the range is to low for them to ever be effective. With your Lords ability to insta gank stuff. and the low range of the teminators they will just be Avoided like the plague.

The dread I like but He is kinda lonly as the only thing with an AV.


Might I suggest a few things.

1.Rhinos. Nobody is simply gonna let you walk up and flame them, and even if they do, the odds or just too high you may not kill enough, and worst still open yourself up to counter assaults. With rhinos, you can do drive-by flaming and the Orks will have to waste a turn busting it up. It also speeds you up for claiming and contesting Objectives, and blocks LoS.

2. More bodies, Drop those termies and get more bodies for your line troops. % is simply too small. Rapid fire plasma or a Devourer armed hive tyrant will wipe your unit out in one shot when only rolling average. This is my main gripe with this list.

3. Melta bombs. 2 of your line squads are &^%$ed if a defiler/dread/Kan hits them. They also have no defense aganst deffrollas.

4. Invest in daemon hammers. You shut down every daemon with it. And Reduce things to INT 0, and auto shake Vechs, even if you don't pen or glance. Oh, and they are STR 8.

All in all This are just lil tips to Help you fight Orks and nids (the main horde armys) And by your win record I'm sure you'll do just fine.

@sexiest_hero: Grey Knights don't have rhinos. They have no transport options.

I tried a list a lot like this already.

It didn't work because the troops aren't mobile enough and they aren't tough enough to hold objectives unless 10 or 15 of them are all sitting on one together. Then the opponent just takes the other objectives and ignores that one.

Actually Mike the regular Grey Knights in just power armour can have a rhino at 50 pts. I revamped my list a little.

Good lord your right, Grey nights can't get rhinos! No wonder they have the land raider spam. Sheesh. Idk, drop the termies and dread and get a land raider maybe. Land raiders are hell to take down at 1k. It would speed you up and get more las-cannon flamer goodness. and you will be able to get a flame/charge off.

Agreed.

Dump Terms and Dread for your Land Raider. Dump Incinerators. Any leftover points just buy more Knights.

Don't bother with upgrades for anything. You need bodies.

Where is that rule?

Grey Knights have no transport options. They can fit in a rhino if you put them in it, but they can't start the game with one.

Scratch that. 3rd ed dedicated transport rules. They can't get into a rhino at all.

Ok so I lowered my body count a little but managed to fit in 2 Land Raiders. What do you think. I am also working towards the RTT this weekend.

Dump the reg Landraider and toss in another set of troops.......your Crusader can carry the load with the Melta and hurricane Bolters....AND still be able to transport.....

Keep this. This is exactly what I would do. Call Kirby and make sure, but I contest that a Land Raider and Land Raider Crusader are two different things.

As for a shortage of troops, at this point level your choices are either 3 squads that will all get killed or only 2 squads that will be nearly impossible to stop. Neither choice is great but holding 2 objectives is better than 0.

Yea the lance strike can be very limited. You choose a terrain feature and your roll the reserves for it on the second turn or when you choose to and it lands once per a turn after that on the terrain piece. It will deviate like 2d6 inches.

Forget the lance strike. After it comes out, your opponent will avoid the terrain feature and the area around it like the plague. Then it becomes a waste of points. Also it scatters even if you hit on the scatter dice. Too unreliable!

Yeah, only problem with that is if you went first in the game, then the opponent could zoom in with some transported Troop. Or it could work for you like that. Who knows?
