| bojesphob1 and I are painting 1 of each of the first founding chapters of space marines. We're going to put them in some kind of diorama type thing. We'll post pictures as we have them and I'll maintain this list to track which ones we've finished. | It's going to be the bald head of a hot topic manager with a bunch of marines standing on top of it.
No... We really don't know yet. Probably a building or something.

| Wait, are you doing the first founding chapters pre-heresy or as they are now?
I'm assuming as they are now seeing as you have the deathguard all chaosed out.

Yeah. We are still having some trouble finding 1 Thousand Son and 1 Noise Marine. If anybody has extra figures or bits to make them I can trade or pay for them.

| Not done yet Chad I'll get to it.... eventually. I actually have another one sitting around (the blister came with two), so I may just do that one up as well just for sh!ts and giggles, I really liked painting that one up! I'll have to look at this when I get home, though, as it looks like there is a cat hair on his backpack sticking off..... | |

| Well, I wouldn't be against painting up the before's as well.... Though, Mike, that would be up to you if we want to go through the effort. I don't mind, myself. | |

| Actually having preheresy standard bearers for each chapter would be pretty sweet. | |

| Remember the pre-heresy marines would need earlier mark armor... would be a pretty cool undertaking though. | |

| I mainly wanted to paint a bunch of different space marine chapters just for experience and I figured it would make a cool reference tool for new players once they were finished. I've actually had quite a few people ask me "Do I have to paint them blue?" This is something we can show people to answer that question.
In short, it's a bunch of examples of popular figures that could help generate interest in the game.
Mk6 figures would just add confusion. Also, the newer figures are nicer and more detailed. If you fluff nazis want to do a diorama like that, I'll totally pitch in (I have at least 1 Mk6 marine chillin in this basement), but that's a whole other project.

| Nice, Mike I think this is turning out to be a good time. I'll get an Ultramarine done up, since I have so many that are in progress, I'll just go ahead and finish one off for this. | |

| Yeah looking good Mike.
I would say though, if we were ever to do the earlier mk armor... it would be better to convert it up rather than use the static (and kind of crappy looking) older figs.

| I agree. Conversions would be easier and better looking. I think a tactical squad box actually comes with enough parts to make 2 mk6 figures. I may be thinking of another box.
But don't the original figs have historical and sentimental value?
I'm also noticing that giant photos of my minis exposes flaws I couldn't see before.

That is true. Also be sure ( if you do do some mk6 conversions ) to use the legs without the knee pads!
