Allied IG

If you take the IG as allies with the DH's codex can you give the IG guards doctrines. I could not find a reason that you can't.

What I was thinking of doing was adding a platoon with a Junior Officer and giving them the special equipment doctrine and giving them the cameleoline so I can stick them in cover to shoot and give them a 3+ cover save from normal shooting attacks.

As far as I know, JT, no, no doctrines. The IG allies, if you run a pure Daemonhunters list is relegated to plain vanilla platoons, and I think maybe 1 leman russ? Don't have it right here with me, but that's why I have an IG army, with an Inquisitor ally, so that I can use doctrines and what not, but have an Inquisitor with it. Maybe I've got that wrong, but that was the reason I didn't go with an Inquisitor army, then use IG allies....

I thought it did say you could only use the vanilla platoons and such,(I belive the russ is for witch hunters) hmmmm maybe Im thinking of whitch hunters for that rule as well

Yea I missed the part where it says you can only take the IG and SM as they are in the codex, that also includes their upgrades and any other options. As RAW means that you can only take the options that are available with them on that page alone.
