Here is some art from the comics:

And the press release for "The Gathering Storm" (the first part of the three books for "Memory of Light"):

Just in case anyone is interested...

Good job catching this, wolfman! I hadn't thought to check dragon mount in a while, and you got me to go looking it up!

Wait, wait, 3?

A Memory of Light is going to be THREE BOOKS?

Goddammit Jordan's Corpse, you said the final book would be one book, even if it needed a back brace and a luggage cart to get it out from the store.

Sadly he couldn't finish it tho. So it'll be three so they can probably milk it. As long as they finish every storyline that they started tho i'll be happy. Art work on the comics looks amazing. Definately going to get them as soon as they come out!

He loves his money. As long as people are buying the books, he will write them. I think he should have stuck to his idea of writing side books based on the world and other characters who have not gotten as much attention and ending the main series.

Hey, Crobar, unfortunately, Robert passed away last year, so this isn't him writing anymore. His wife and a family friend are finishing the story for him. Apparently he had so much material for the final book, that when written out, had to be split out into three books. I think that was the publisher's choice to make it three books. I think they still have the outlines for the side books, so I'm sure they will probably end up writing those as well and putting them out once the main story is finished.

I didn't know he had passed. It should be interesting to see how the next books come out.

Yeah, he lost his bout with amyloidosis… a service-connected illness related to herbicide exposure (which I believe was related to his Vietnam war experience...) on September 16th of 2007 (so it was the year before last... my bad). I was fortunate enough to get book 11 signed by him when he came to Cincinnati a few months before that.

I'm just glad I got sick of the Wheel around book 6 or 7 (who can remember).

The story got so bloated it wasn't even fun to read anymore.

It was like giving up a crazy girlfriend. You thought you'd miss her but in the end you don't even think about her b/c life is so much better not having her around.

Except that in the WoT series, you have 3 crazy girlfriends!

I'm actually glad I stuck with it. In book 11, all of those different plotlines started to come together, and it really made a lot more sense what was going on (well, at least I thought so). Was it overly detailed to the point of nauseum, at times, but that's what I liked so much about the beginning of the series was the rich detail he put into his writing.

Anyhow, if the last three don't wrap it all up, then maybe I'll be upset, but I've reread all 11 books at least 3 times each (the earlier ones even more times), and I'm always catching something new that is alluded to that I hadn't caught the last 4 times I read it....

I got to agree with joe. Part of the enjoyment was the complexity and hte amount of detail. Besides watching each of the three main male characters grow from farm boys to the men that you want to find out just what happens. I even got the quote "Asha'man Kill." Tattooed on my right shoulder(Still need to finish that tattoo....) Its safe to say that jordan really gave me a desire and love of fantasy even more.
