OK, I need an opinion here. I've given thought to a shooty Ork army. I see how it would work, the question is would it work. I'm looking to see if anyone has tried this idea before, before i get in too deep.

Back in 4th it was the only way to run Orks. Now it takes a lil more kunnin to pull off.

With their poor BS, I would not waste the points on guns. Orks are built for a bloody Close combat war. You could always load up on lootas, but that would add$ up quick.

Actually I find the sheer amount of ork Fire power seems to make up for the fact that they can't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside....

I don't care if you are termies or Nids or even other orks, 60 shots from one unit in a turn is gonna do something...

So yes a shooty army is very possible but you need the quantity effect to pull it off. For instance you wanna take as many looted wagons with boomguns, Tankbusta squads, 26 Boyz with Shootas Squads with a nob with Power klaw and 3 big shootas.

It is fun even better if you out shoot a Tau army!!!

Well, it was like I said in my first post, I see how it would work, but I wasn't sure if it would work in practice. After all, lots of things look good on paper. And I didn't want to sink a bunch of cash into an army that wouldn't work, especially since I'm still working on building my primary Ork army, which (I'm hoping) is going to be a Wazdakka Speed Freaks army (surprise there). Which reminds me, I still have no idea how I'm going to make a Wazdakka conversion...

shooty orks do fine. lootas, battle wagons, killa cans and looted trucks work just fine. They didn't coin the term DakkaDakka for nothing you know!
