Try dropping the gun drones and the drones on the fire warriors and try switching out the hammerhead for broad sides it will give you more stuff to play with. Also you might try useing twin linked plasma/missle pod combo though expencive in points it has won me a number of battles when my suqad leaders and my body guards use them. just a few thought that might help

Bruce....this is a suit army......With points I have and needing to take 2 troops, I ran out of points.

Now my 2500 pt army has 3-3man squads of Broadsides


also did I mention Tau was my very first army???

it is my 1st army also the problem is your troops are beffed out a ton of stuff that can be worthless the gun drone and the shiled drone on the troops is just dead weight for me at least

I agree with Bruce, beefing the troops at all in a suit army is pointless. If you want to go suits, the ignore the troops as much as possible. Look to Marc for some inspiration here!

Even if it is your first army, taking criticism is part of posting a list. Besides, you really didn't play it for long.

Also CJ, if you could, look at the guidelines in the forum abotu posting lists. At least bolding the units will help make this easier to read.

Copy/Paste from Army builder is super hard to read, and it contains a lot of useless information.

forgot about that cuz we discused that yesterday at your house.....

you guys are right about the troops.....I have a 3rd list I forgot about too that it's just a base of 6 troops in 2 squads with no drones or upgrades....I'll post that in my edits above...

Oh I know, but not much at all. An army I played very little (my Nurgle) was still played in around 30 games or so. You really didn't play your Tau much.

I mean no offense, just pointing that out. Plus, back then, you were much worse than you are now with the rules etc.

I like the idea of minimizing the troops more though. Take a leaf out of Marcs book and look at some Kroot. They make decent speed bumps and very good counter infiltration (they are super cheap, so expendable).

I'd go three units of 2

Marc.....this is the army builder layout.....instead of spending 50 years...I hit copy and paste......sorry I hurt your eyes.

Also....I actually was going to go no heavies on the list and 3 2 man squads of Pirahnas with the suits.

The lists would have been Elite and Fast heavy. Very mobile.

Also...using Firewarriors are give me a better shooty Weapon and better Save...

Another great example of a suit list is one I posted though I do admit if it a mission I will only win by killing the other guys army. but I do belive Ill take back my broadside comment the hammerhead can be useful in high numbers armies like nids when you fight a ton of units with 5+ saves the sub rail gun will kill. The pirangas are good but mine normal are only 70 points(60 base plus the fusion plus targeting arrey since they are already fast they dont need the fire as if you are a fast upgrade)

CJ, you really have a hard time listening. When I mention looking at the guidelines, look at the guidelines if you can.

You just bolded the whole thing, so not much help. You can still copy and paste the list, but after you do so just highlight the unit name and hit bold. Not too difficult.

Also, and this a problem a lot of people have on the forum, when you ask for advice on a list simply refuting everything that is said won't help you at all. Of course, you are obviously welcome to your own opinion.

But when people who have had massive success with a similar list, might be a good idea to listen up a bit more. After all, we are all here to help each other out.

I don't usually have much to say in the affairs of the xenos, but the one thing I really didn't like was the shield/gun drone combo. It seems to work better (against me) as either one, the other, or none at all.

me too after looking at it Nathen...I dropped gun drones except for the suits and just carried sheild instead. You can hand out wounds to drones since they are part of the units which then give your troops or suits another day to fight.
