Anyone care to share their thoughts on Flames of War?

I'm looking to get into it but I'd like to hear a bit about it first. Is the game fun? What is the crowd around the game like? If I buy an army for one period (early, mid, late) can I play games only against armies of the same period? What are the models like? Are the missions more competition driven or narrative driven?

Thanks for any help, I'm sure I'll think of more questions the more I explore. Any general opinions, etc on the game would be great!

Yup, talked to him on facebook.... We are going to try catch up sometime so I can get a demo. This Friday is bad though... maybe next week.

Fridays are hard for me to get games in period. Always something going on on Fridays.
