| There are many different play styles for each Faction. Asking if the Arcanists are good is like asking if cheese is good. | |

| It's kinda odd CJ, and Witt is 100% correct. I think MGSU is a good solid choice. I think resurrectionist (Nic. Faction) is good but I think he just got cock blocked in the new book w/ the Guild Hound (look at his bury ability Witt and he is a beast ) I think Witch Hunters (guild) are very good and a little more straight forward to play. If you intend this as a side game I think the Guild is a good bet because their abilities are more geared to shutting others down versus powering yourself up if that makes sense. ie. For neverborn (Pandora) it is a bit of a shell game as you move your figures back and forth so you opponent never is sure where you are at. For Resurections (nicodem) you need to get corpse counters by digging them up w/ mortimer then summining your undead. Then buff your undead. Guild you get near casters and can shut them down. You have tons of shooty. It is just more "direct" versus layers of actions to be successful. |

yes they have some sweet synergies(sp?) but as a viable sqaud(at this point) they are bit more costly than some of the other "out of the box" factions if you are looking for something straight forward, no finess', range first melee second unit the Guild have it right now an Ortega Family box or Lady Justice box with a totem fig (Child of Conflict or Scales of justice) and maybe an Oucast Ronin kit and you got a solid playable force

| Agreed. I think the Guild boxes are probably the most straight forward to play. | |

| Didn't think this merited it's own thread as anyone intrested in Malifaux will probably be looking here anyhow, but http://miniaturemarket.com/ is having a 50% off sale on a few of the Gencon releases. You've got to preorder but it ships out next week. They've got... Resurectionist Kirai box set Outcast Ophelia box set Book 2: Rising Powers Plastic puppet fate deck I'll be picking up the Kirai box set and the second book. Picked up the first book and read through all of the fluff, still haven't read the rules or play yet though... Gotta make that happen one of these days. | |

A question about this for those who may know? Are all of the decks the same, other than the color, or do you really need the color specific to each faction?

| All fate decks are the same exception being color.
You can play the game w/ a standard deck of cards if you want. |

| For anyone also curious, Miniaturemarket is a really good site, really reliable, and in addition, they have a GenCon special running till the end of the month: $10 off a $100 order (which will get you free shipping). The code is GenC59 | |

| I don't know who you mean as "they" but miniaturemarket has copies of both the core rulebook and rising powers in stock, as of right now. | |
