PostSubject: Meet Ryan   Mon Nov 05, 2007 12:04 am

Alright guys so i have kept you in the dark over the past few weeks.. Granted I am busy, but i am playing matt this week and want to suprise the hell out of him! Very Happy

but, I thought i would post some lists that i dont play conventionally, but ones that i think are interesting. Lets see what i can stir up.

Eldar Footsloggers
Troops:

10 Dire Avengers inc. Exarch
Bladestorm, twin shuriken catapults, Defend
10 Dire Avengers inc. Exarch
Bladestorm, twin shuriken catapults, Defend
5 Pathfinders

Heavy
3 War Walkers
6 Scatter Lasers
2 Fire Prisms
Completely Kitted out with all upgrades

Fast
10 Warp Spiders inc. Exarch
2 death spinners, powerblades, suprise assault, withdraw

Elite
10 Howling Banshees inc. Exarch
Executioner, Acrobatics
Wave Serpent with Eldar Missile Launcher TL
All upgrades in survivability
8 Harlequins Plus 1 Shadowseer
9 Harlequins Kisses

1 Farseer
Spirit Stones, Doom, Guide

Alright well this is the first list i am posting. Share thoughts. Basically the Avengers (one unit rerolling to wound)(doomseer) footslog up the middle flanked by Warp Spiders on one side and Banshees in the serpent on the other. The Prisms fire away with the Pathfinders who usually find 2+ cover and the Harlequins stay behind the avengers usually for the mop up kill. Meanwhile the walkers truck right up the middle with rerollable (farseer guides) 24 str. 6 shots.

*EDIT* This list is 2000 points. Sorry I forgot to mention.

Thats brutal..

Not much to say really. You stayed away from the questionable selections in the list and topped out on the studs. Nothing wrong with that mind you. Your softest unit has all Power Weapons Laughing

You have 10 scoring units and 80 models. Excellent.

Go get'em Very Happy

Ryan meet Ryan, our resident fairness fan.

He has a point though, it's a tough looking list. Refreshing it isn't just another mech Eldar job.

hi ryan!

yeah i like transports but a completely mechanized eldar list is only as good as your roll for first turn.

Yeah, you get a lot of popped vehicles if not.

Still, it is nasty even if you don't get first turn. Just without it you don't have a 100% chance of victory, you get dropped down to something around 95% Smile

haha i will remember that man... so next is a very experimental list. i have never played it as i do not have enough money to buy all these models, though i have all but the harlequins.

Eldar Exodites

Troops
10 Pathfinders
8 Pathfinders

Heavy
6 Dark Reapers
1 Dark Reaper Exarch Tempest Launcher, Fast Shot
2 Fire Prisms, Vectored, Holo, SS (Full survivability on both)

Fast
4 Warp Spiders
1 Warp Spider Exarch, 2 Death Spinners, Withdraw, Suprise Attack

Elite
5 Harlequins, 1 Shadowseer, 1 Troupe Master
5 Harlequins, 1 Shadowseer, 1 Troupe Master
5 Harlequins, 1 Shadowseer, 1 Troupe Master

HQ
Prince Yriel of Iyanden

2,000 Pts.

Alright so obviously this is a pretty crazy list. The general tactic is to force the enemy to shoot at the Pathfinders (3+ cover at worse, but infilitrate and scout so they can usually find 2+). The pathfinders destroy any MC's then go after elites or pin ground troops. The reapers are way back hopefully out of range. They go after masses of troops or elites. The warp spiders basically distract the enemy.. too small to be focused at so they can slip behind tanks and take advantage of their s6 weapons. Worse case senario spiders go after troops. The Harlequins sit and wait. They cannot be shot at until the enemy advances upon the firepower units... and when they do they are basically screwed [Language!-Matt]. Unless of course i play them incorrectly. Prince Yriel sits with harlequins. Not many eldar players here so... 5 attacks at WS7.. wounds anything on a 2+ ignoring armor saves. He also has a 3+ invuln and once a game he can create a str 6 ap 3 large blast around him. Beast. The Fire Prisms do their thing.

Quite obviously this thing is a wheel of cheese... but interesting to say the least. I have to use some counts as games and actually try this list before really understanding it. Anyone up for it? Smile

We could proxy that.

I think the list is cool. However I feel like the army will be picked apart piecemeal. You are right saying that you will force the enemy to shoot the pathfinders, but even with a 3+ save they will still die like marines, and they will have entire armies shooting at them.

I like the harlies being in 3 squads, will help them survive, as with those guys you really have to dedicate a unit to jump out for the kill.

I feel like the Warp Spiders will get chewed up pretty quickly, unless you manage to hit with them at the right time (the same time the harlies hit).

It's a very elite list, that doesn't seem to have a real backbone.

What would you use to reliably capture objectives? Seems most things either get in the enemies face, or sit back. Maybe the vehicles?

Should be interesting to play, from both sides of the board.

i agree that its hard to say exactly how it would do since its never been played. the point of it is to sort of try and create this wall where if you sit back its hard to penetrate (and the reason being the 2+ is cover so can't be penetrated.. they stick around a long time trust me) and then hard to just rush foreward and kill because the harlies are waiting.

If you want we could proxy it.. but i would rather proxy it when i have time i want to take advantage of the first battle i have played in a while and just play with my usual list. Though if you are really up for it i definitely am. let me know!

Yeah we can proxy it another time.

I agree that Pathfinders are hard to kill. But they will have almost everything thrown at them, and aren't too cheap.
