| Space Hulk!
Word was handed down from GW early this morning. We'll know more about availability later today or early tomorrow. If you want one from Up Up & Away, let me know ASAP!
Here's the description from GW:
From the depths of space an ancient vessel drifts slowly towards the Imperium of Mankind - a space hulk. Within its confines, untold thousands of Genestealers slowly emerge from hibernation. The Space Marines must enter the cramped corridors and tomb-like chambers of the ancient ship to defeat this alien menace. Space Hulk is a board game for two players, recreating the battles fought between the Space Marines and Genestealers. One player commands the Space Marines as they carry out deadly missions in the ancient Space Hulk, and the other commands the horde of Genestealers opposing them. Space Hulk's fast-paced rules simulate the tense atmosphere of a mission deep inside the cramped confines of a derelict space hulk, where split-second decisions are needed for victory. $99
Contents This boxed game contains: a 23-page Rulebook, a 47-page Mission book and 35 finely-detailed, plastic Citadel miniatures, including: 11 Space Marine Terminators, one Space Marine Terminator Librarian, 22 Genestealers, and one Broodlord. Also included are: 105 gaming counters, 24 corridors, 10 rooms, eight crossroads, eight T-junctions, six corner sections, four dead ends, four end pieces, 20 doors with plastic stands, one mission status display, and three plastic mission objectives, including: a dead Space Marine on throne, a Blood Angels artefact and a Cyber-Altered Task Unit. Plus a sand timer and five bone-coloured dice unique to this game. Release Date Availability: This product is available for pre-order and will be released on the 5th of September.

| I'm sorry I didn't think that I could pre-order at a store. GW sent me an email today about it and I just pre-ordered from them directly.
I ordered two copies. | |

I missed this my first time in the thread. What do you mean by converting into Deathwing? I mean I had all the original sets including the Deathwing and Genestealer expansions, but back in the day Deathwing was simply more miniatures and map pieces, a few new rules and some missions. Nothing to convert to make one into the other. Is there another reference to Deathwing that I've missed over the years?

| Yes, you can pre-order it from Up Up & Away! GW has promised heavy allocations, and I will find out on Tuesday how many we'll be getting. So far Makari & Wittdooley are first on the list! Support your local Warhammer store! | |

| I finally got a chance to read through the pre-order introduction and see all the pictures. I've very happy they opted not to make the map pieces actual 3D corridors. The price they would have charged for that would have prevented me from buying it.
It appears also, that even though the new terminator bases are much larger than the original terminator bases, and that the old SH map pieces were made to fit the 25 mm base, it looks as if the new map pieces are the same size as they used to be, so perhaps old map pieces will be able to match up with the new ones.
I wish I could see a preview of the actual combat rules, see how much it has changed since 1st edition.
You may find that I might abandon my 40K army for a while.... Space Hulk was my game back in the day, I played Rogue Trader too, but I was all about Space Hulk.
Now I need to put together my Termies from Blackreach!

| Suh-Weet! It looks like the plastics may be more along the lines of what you see in a lot of the Fantasy Flight board games these days, though, which won't make it easy for converting. | |
