| The 'monger has started his Imperial Guard... with this being his 1st unit of vets. We are using a combined effort to get them done. I'm looking for any suggetions on doing human eyes, they have become my achilles heal. All my armies have solid color eyes (bugs, chaos, even my Eldar are a solid green). It's the pupil that gets me, I don't want the scared/stare look in their eyes. [url] |

| Very nice, Hand! As to the eyes, you could do one of two things: 1) a paint pen - ask Matt about this, i've never used them, but I've heard they work well 2) Just paint them white. This is what I usually do. I have a 000 brush that I use and just color them white But, I kinda like the scared/stare look, as they are probably shell shocked from the battles they've seen lol! Can you imagine the horrors they'd have seen, especially being veterans and all? _________________ I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure. | Eyes are a lot less white then folks think.
The markers are a good suggestion if you have trouble getting the tip you need with a brush. I have some... I'll have to look at the brand again. They are ink but a specialist type of product.

| Thanks for the links!
I think I might try the pen method, maybe with a felt tip marker. They seem to have a finer point than most.
As far as the white in the eye, I actually used bleached bone. I use a fleshy wash around the whole face. Then the "whites" of the eyes aren't as "white". |

Don't use a felt tip. They bleed. Let me get the name at home and I'll let you know what it is. I think they are used in scrapbooking. |

| Also if you decide you want to work on eyes in the future using paint here are a couple good tutorials I found.
http://www.paintrix-miniatures.com/articles.php?&art=7&page=3
http://www.destroyerminis.com/eyes.php
both are very detailed and have really good step by step pictures to go with them. _________________ 40K Stats: ...is dead to me |

| I REALLY like your camo scheme! I've tried doing camo before and absolutely sucked at it, so I like _________________ I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure. I never finish anyth Circle Orboros: 1-2-0 Khador: 0-3-0 Close game with CJ! |

| Thanks, I wasn't sure how to do mine. I went to a military surplus website and looked at the camo patterns on the clothing to get my inspiration. As "Dume" said this is a combined evert and for those who want to know I thought I would kind of layout how we are doing it. I started out with bases from Dragonforge, assembled and primed the models. The uniform and base were painted Desert Yellow, the camo stripes are Bleached Bone and Bestial Brown. I used one lined stripes, Y's and V's to make the camo pattern. The last thing is the grenades which are Chainmail and a black ink wash. From there it goes to "Dume" "Hand of Dume" then takes them and details them out with his choice of colors for the rocks and rubble. He uses Elf Flesh on the face and hands, Komanndo Khaki on the body armour outlined with Chestnut ink wash. He used Black ink to outline the small symbols before picking out the detail. The eyes are a mix of brown, blue and green. He then applies a couple of liberal washes of Delvian Mud to the whole model. "Dume" if I forgot anything on your part please feel free to edit this post. The next unit is my Inquisitor and his mystics. "Dume" is going solo on these while I get the next unit of vets ready. |

| That about says it all.
But full credit goes to 'monger for the design and layout of the figs, I'm just doing some detail for the most part.
I have to say that this is the way to bust out an army. Things are moving quite along.
As things continue to get done, we'll post pics.
Thanks again for the responses! |

| Got the Inquisitor and his 2 mystics done over the weekend. I painted the 2 mystics pretty much the same. Like 'monger told me, psychic twins. Since they are psychers I made the eyes with no pupils. Excuse the crappiness of the pics throughout, just not my thing. |

| There was a little lull in the painting, but we've got back into the groove. 'Monger made his own Officer of the Fleet and Astropath. I think he did a great job! |
