1850 RTT at the Krystal Keep!!

Didn't see this posted anywhere so I thought I would throw it out there for everybody.

Warhammer 40k RTT
1850pts
Standard RTT 3 round format.
$10.00 entry.
Start time 11am.
Check in time 10:30am.
2 hour rounds, 1 hour break between each round.
Pairings and scoring in Swiss style.

Prizes for;
Best Overall (Highest cumulative points)
Best General (Pure Battle Points)
Player's Choice (Comp and Sportsmanship)
Painting (Judged and Bonus votes)
Brick Award (lowest battle points)

The scenarios will not be posted in advance, but will focus on balanced play and list design.

Best Overall and Best General will be equal in prize support.

Prize pool will be dependent on attendance, but KK always makes sure we're happy!

Only current armies (Codices and BA download) are allowed, which unfortunately removes Deathwatch and Kroot Mercs (etc) from the mix as they are not currently balanced.

The new Tyranid codex MAY be available for use if the 'dex actually comes out the FIRST weekend in Jan, otherwise we bug players will have to wait until the March RTT

Im going to be trying real hard for this one.

why is every tournament posted like.. 2 weeks before it happens? I need more notice.. my work sucks...

Can you have an all gray army? as my army will be assembled this weekend?

If the new bug Codex does come out next week that will only give me a week and a half window to buy models and to study the rules, hmmm I may have to wait until march on this one! Unless I can put an effective army together with the bugs I have already!

Yeah I think waiting is a good choice. If you only have a week and a half to read rules and maybe get a couple games in you are doing yourself or any of your opponents justice.

One of three things are bound to happen, one, you short yourself on a rule and lose a game because of it, two, you read something wrong and you inadvertently use a ability that can change the game and you get a win, three, you send most of the afternoon with your nose in a book trying to figure things out and waste time and cut people short of rounds. Some armies take 3 or 4 rounds to ramp up where as others are pretty much shoot your load and hope to wipe someone out in 2 - 3 rounds. I had at least 3 people come to me last CAG tourny talking about one or two players who would milk their turns and in the end hurt the flow of the game.

This post is not directed towards any one person, but more as a appreciation to Ronnie for not gimping someones game or his own for that matter. Not sure if it is still in effect but GW old rule of the Codex had to be out for more that 30 days is still a appropriate way to do it.

Or just call KK and find out if you can use the 4th ed codex. I assume it would be fine. www.krystalkeep.com

I am officially throwing my hat into the ring for this one as well.

If anyone has not called to reserve a spot yet you might want to do so. They have a lot of tables but there events are pretty popular as well.

They have filled all the spots already. I'm on the alternate list. I think I'll go up anyway and hang out for a while even if I don't get it.
