Chaos ! Deamons or Marines ?

Hi All,
Newbee I like Chaos minis. But what do you think about Chaos daemons or chaos marines ? I no you can summon some deamons if you play marines. Do alot of people play one more than other ?

Chaos marines are more common and more forgiving. Daemons are less common and very difficult to play. They can be very competitive, it just isn't easy.

The other thing to consider is if you do the bases righ your Chaos demons army for 40K can be used for Fantasy!!! Only army that can realistically do that!

I agree unless were talking about low point values. Like under 1000. I'v yet to see any daemons list do well in any big tournaments, but daemons can really put the hurt on anything at small points.

They have their strengths. Mainly of the slaanesh kind. Demonettes are out right scary along with seekers.

I believe inquisitors are a strike against daemons as well. Alot of tournament armies run them. That will be fixed one day.

Chaos can do very well against casual lists thanks to gimics like lash or if ran vanilla they can still do very well. Assault version with plaque marines has always done well. Oblits and defilers being the main heavy support depending on what the rest of the army lacks.

Hope that helps, both lists mainly depend on picking the efficent units while completely ignoring less competitive units.

Demons are fun to play. They have a lot of really good units that put fear into your opponents. I have been playing them for a while now, and I love it. I would caution you, though. The tides of Chaos can be fickle. I've lost more than a few games in the opening round due to poor deepstrike/mishap rolls. (But I tend to be overly aggressive.) Warseer has a very good tactics thread for them. When things go right, though, we decimate armies.

I noticed that you only mentioned (in my opinion) the only two PURE EVIL armies in Warhammer 40K. What is wrong with the others?
