Yeah, if the marines are even remotely upgraded for assaulting like having two ccws, the results are even sicker. The basic marines kill 4-5 of the shield drones on average, the remainder cleaned up by the powerfist. Then the next turns the power fist runs rampant killing all the suits by combat round three.

Frostwolf, you do know that one PF wound instant kills the crisis suits right? Things do turn out differently if each wound has to be stripped off individually.

The previous analysis also assumes that the marines get the charge since it would be better for the Tau to shoot than charge themselves. The tau's problem is that even a Shas'O on average will only do .44 wounds per round to a Meq, even with 4 attacks. Also, shield drones are great against shooting where they can intercept a lascannon or melta shot and have a 50% chance of living. In cc having a 4+ save is just kinda sucky.

Bruce, you should also know (if you don't) that the marine player can choose to target your actual HQ character in close combat even though he has a retinue. So a power fisting squad will finish him pretty quickly once the shield drones are wiped up.

Like I said before, and as John has prove... the squad is somewhat survivable, but cannot dish out any significant damage in return.

Most of the time he was playing against my green dice (stupid cursed dice). Ignoring that, he is crazy enough to charge my marines (and others) and the shield drones have T4 and a 3+ save like all of the suits.

Even so, it doesn't change much.

Eventually we will get you two to admit that Tau Crisis Suit HQ's are not good in close combat.

I feel like I'm trying to get the fallen to admit to their treachery against the dark angels Smile (don't laugh I'm reading Angels of Darkness so I have it on the brain).

There isn't any bashing going on. I can start bashing if you want. Just let me know when I should start Smile

I'm not sure how you can say I don't listen when I post in direct response to your most recent post, but oh well.

You can live in your own dream world where Tau are good at close combat, I hope to see you on the table sometime soon and you can prove it Wink Because the proof we have shown seems to be defeated by your luck AHEM, I mean experience.

Happy gaming Commander Farsight (a fitting nickname no?)

not relly since people think he is useing a weopen made by necrons..... but how can you say you are not bshing when all you do is say im wrong you are right.....yatta yatta(hmmmmm sounds loike what you do to cj at times to) ahh its not luck.....ask nathan how can it be luck after 50 some games(1 every wendsday almost during the school year for the past almost 3 years) now yes not all were tau but at least 50% were tau and in almost everyone I was in close combat with my commander(since the new codex that is). Yea sure that luck winning 50+ close combats is luck yea right.

We proved it to you statistically, so yes it can be luck. Perhaps it was a failing on Nathans part. It really is not possible, the stats show it.

all you do is say im wrong you are right

Is that not what you are doing?

Quote :
ask nathan how can it be luck after 50 some games

so Nathan, you honestly believe that Tay Crisis suit commanders ARE good in assault? Even after we have shown the facts that we have?

I just had a great idea, im gunna just melt all my chaos marines into a big ball of plastic and buy a close combat tau army, because as we all know, the WTFPWNSAUCEBBQROFL in close combat. its a fact of life that we all need to come to terms with, some of us took it better than others.

so yeah, wtb close combat tau army send me a message if you have one for sale.

on a side note. last i checked 1 genestealer>2000 point tau army in close combat.

You can use numbers to prove how a unit will do in assault, we did it in an earlier post remember. So not sure what back up you have for this without admitting to a belief in the supernatural.

While not quite true, that is pretty damn funny.

Hold, hold, hold. I never said Tau are good in close combat, it is just some thing that always happens to me (not quite sure how). Bruce is just about the only guy I can think of that luck enjoys to be around. I have faced more tau (including commanders) in cc and won, but almost never against Bruce (not sure if my dice are cursed, or Bruce is a funnel for good luck and magic and stuff, but that's besides the point).

Matt: If I could close this subject down I would, but I can't so can you.

Oh, BTW everybody SHUT THE HELL UP! I get difference of opinions and crap like that. Just no more.
