| Starting the thread for the builder challenge/Eastside slow grow league.
Final starting list is TBD but will look similar to...
pKaya (+6) Feral Warpwolf (9) Purblood or Stalker Warpwolf (9/10) A 2/3 pt solo depending on the above.
So far I've got the Circle starter box and plan on picking up additions on Tues at Eastside.
Models have been assembled and based have been primed for painting. Pictures to come.

| So, I've got my first group of bases semi finished (I'll go back and touch them up a bit). Pictures of the bases and primed minis are below. I've picked up eKaya and the Warpwolf Stalker. I started getting those assembled this evening. Will start painting primed minis in a day or so. Apologies for the photo quality. I'll work on taking better photos. These were snapped quickly before heading up to Eastside Tuesday night. Primed Minis. Argus #1 base. Argus #2 base. Feral Warpwolf base. pKaya base. The blurry brown part is a small stump that was added to the base from woodland scenics. Any feedback on the basing would be appreciated. (Also if anyone knows. I'm unable to get the last 2 photos to re-size like the first 3. When starting all 5 photos were the same size. I followed the same steps for all 5 photos but the last 2 wont change. I even tried completely removing them from photo bucket and trying again.) | |

| Interesting that you're doing the bases before you put the mini on it... I've never done it that way! I do like the looks of it, though, just make sure that when you put the mini's on them, that you cover the metal band that is the part of the mini that goes into the base!
I'd like to know how your list works out for you, I thought it was pretty cool that Kaya has special wolf affinity.....

I followed a tutorial on brushthralls for the basics of getting the bases done. The tutorial started with a smooth base. So when it came time to do the bases with the gaps, in noob fashion, I just followed the tutorial while working around the gap. I didn't give it a second thought until I put the mini in the base and realized that I'd need to go back and cover the gap/tab. At this point I'm not sure what would be easier. Either leave the tab on the mini and try to base/paint it to make it blend in or take the mini off of the base, fill the gap, and then base it to make it blend in. - Bojesphob wrote:

I played my first game with the list (which I won) on Tues night. I'm still trying to get a decent grasp on the game and faction but I liked it pretty well. I see on the PP forums most folks prefer eKaya to pKaya. I would agree with that after playing with her. I had eKaya much more involved in the battle than pKaya who I just seemed to have stand around and then use spirit door. (That could have just been me playing poorly though)

| I don't know what your finances are, but check out http://www.dragonforge.com/He has a bunch of round lip bases for WM/H and they are resin. I've got a number of them myself (I finally got a picture of my army I'll be posting in a little bit) and they work out really well You prime, paint, and then pin the mini onto it (they do not have slots). Just a suggestion, though. If you don't have the money to do that, I would say fill in the gap, then cut the slotta off the mini, then pin the mini to the base... Probably would be the easiest and best looking way. | |
