I have been getting heavy into the fluff side as well,
Which honestly is a great part of the game as well, from where I am standing. I am looking at my beloved Blood Angels here I got ahold of some old material.

Besides the nerfing of Death compnay and making them pricey w/ new codex just looking at the fluff. Also the casting or sculpting of new pieces.

I'm going out on a limb here but it seems that maybe they are heading towards Chaos side...

Being the oldest fighting force for the marines and then being shuffeled aside for other factions Ultra Space Wolves ETC...

Take in the possibility of Grey Knight Sisters of battle merger. With future codex rumor.

Also the feel of new codex makes it appear like they are going nuts w/ rage and black rage
ETC...

I don't think it would be a far reach for me to say it is possible they turn rebel and become enemies to that which they served once...

What do you guys think, is this possible ?

It kinda does make sense and would level it out for a overpowered Grey Knight release fluff wise.

The history of the Chapter is set in stone, they have always been and always will be a little psychotic. GW will not change the fluff on a core Codex.

Now saying all that, Loyalist Marines are like a bunch of middle school girls, they act like they like each other and for the most part get along, but behind closed doors they bicker and fight like a bunch of bitches. Most don't trust the other further than the battlefield and always look over their shoulder when fighting along side them.

Chaos on the other hand hate each other and they just get together to beat up the nerds of the universe, aka Loyalist Marines.

If you notice also there is a equal number of both Loyalist and Traitor core chapters, to upset the balance would be very un-GW like.

TO: DOOLEY, FROM: CHAD <3(thanks for the bits though, lotsa love)

If you like the Blood Angels fluff, the Blood Angels Omnibus (http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Angels-omnibus-James-Swallow/dp/1844165590/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1273091494&sr=8-1

is a decent read and it deals with the whole psychosis thing. It's basically just like the Space Wolves, to where if they don't control the rage, it consumes them and they are nothing more than beasts. The Space Wolves Omnibus begins with the story of recruits and how they have to overcome their inner beast, and the BAO deals with how the BA deal with it when they are Marines. It gives a LOT of background into the fluff! (Also, the Ultramarines Omnibus was EXCELLENT, if you really want to read!)

Yeah and if start with the Blood Angel Omnibus you will never be disappointed with any other book you read, cause its BAD.

Like Joe said though it is a good source of their psyche and the effects it has on them.

Was looking forward to the "Nemesis" book until I found out James Swallow was writing it.

If there was any suggestion of first reads about Marines in general it would be the "Space Wolf" Omnibus would say it is slightly better than the Ultramarines one, but just barely both are great reads. Just not much on the Blood Angels other than short stories and the such scattered through other books.

Yeah, I definitely didn't like the Blood Angels as much as the others. I am trying to decide if I want to get the Grey Knights one or not (though, I'm only about 1/2 into Space Wolves at the moment).

Pretty crass there but ok-

I was thinking with the introduction or return of Sanguinor I read that they dont know whether He is here or not.

Also He is only rumored to be in certain battles...
I was refering to the fact we have him and can play him.

Also lookin' at one tid bit of story line. that could be intrepted in this fashion.

Because Dante was only fighting in His absense coupled with He is now here and that was a past focus of the BA.

Once you get to know me, you know I don't really sugar coat things...not trying to be a asshat, just comes natural. I would rather you spend $15 on a good book and enjoy it than waste money on one that is by popular vote, BAD.

Joe: The "Grey Knight" one is decent say a B-, has some good fights but story kind of drags for me, but all in all I would say yeah get it.

Chad I felt the same way when I found out James Swallow was doing Nemesis. It felt like it took 8 years to read Flight of the Eisenstein. Seemed like he dragged everything out with all of the details.

Yeah, not ever happening. Your core loyalist marine chapters are loyal for many reasons. Horus killed Sanguinius. The chances of the Blood Angels going traitor are pretty much nil.

I can't see any of the present loyal chapters, particularly the first founding chapters, going rogue. Space Wolves. Not Happening. Ultras. No way. Templars. HAHAHA.

If anything we'd be more likely to see factions of the Chaos side of things try and mend fences and make their way back to the loyalist side (particularly with the Alpha Legion and, after reading Thousand Sons, perhaps them).

And Chad: The two newer Blood Angels books are quite superior to the Omnibus.

Oh just thought of it you want to a really dynamic book is the "Souldrinker" Omnibus and following books.

They are a loyalist chapter that goes rogue, their reasoning and view of the Imperium is well almost valid. Pretty good read also give it a B

Sean: What two are those may have to give them a try, about 3 books in queue at the moment so will be a month or so till I get to them.
