We apparently just had a small little earthquake downtown at about 2.... Anybody notice? Smile We had ceiling tiles and wires outside moving about a bit....

I'm sitting at my desk in my quiet bedroom barely a mile from downtown and I didn't feel anything. Are you sure the Cloverfield monster isn't under your building?

Actually, it originated up around Toronto:

Quote :

All seven floors at Antonelli College, 7th and Main streets in downtown Cincinnati were evacuated at about 2 p.m. Wednesday after officials felt tremors from an earthquake in central Canada.

The Cincinnati fire department let everybody back into the school at about 2:25 p.m.

US Geological Survey map

People throughout the Cincinnati area reported shaking from the tremors.

The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit the Ontario-Quebec border region in Canada at 1:41 p.m.

The Toronto Globe and Mail said the earthquake rattled buildings from Windsor to Montreal and several U.S. states.

Warren Huff, a geology professor at the University of Cincinnati, said seismographs on the main campus showed vertical movements in the earth's crust shortly after 1:30 p.m.

"I'm just looking at some data now, and there was something," Huff said.

He said the equipment is monitored and shows some vertical movement every day. He was unable to put an order of magnitude on the "seismic event," which he acknowledged could accurately be called an earthquake.

"If a big heavy truck goes by on Clifton Avenue, we can detect that," he said. "But this is a little unusual."

I liked it, though the ending was a bit anticlimatic.... But, I thought it was a fun movie Smile

Speaking of boobs... I moved 5000 lbs or liquid silicone tonight, and all I could think was, "I hope all this will become boobies."

We must have had a lot of topless women running around yesterday (do you remember the news story about the Iran guy saying that the earthquake that hit Iran was caused by women not properly covering themselves?). Unfortunately it looks like I missed it!
