Ard' Boyz is cancelled

I saw this and was totally caught off guard. I always enjoyed Ard' Boyz. I can't confirm this but it wouldn't surprize me the way things have been going with GW lately.

Ed Spettigue and Chris Woodward are gone. Bit of a different era coming up. I think they put a lot of things on the chopping block, and the longer we don't hear about them, the more likely they are just not being supported.

You know, I don't think I've bought a single GW anything since Finecast came out.

Way to many good options out there right now. Warmachine, Flames of War, Malifaux, etc.

The stuff done by local people are much more fun anyway.

At Games Workshop, the North American Trade Sales Team has spent a lot of time reviewing our organized events and the kind of tournaments and activities we’d like to support on a national level going forward. We decided that the events we want to support in the future need to be inclusive for both new and existing hobbyists while supporting the complete Games Workshop Hobby: Collecting, Building, Painting and Playing.

As a result we’ve decided to stop running ’Ard Boyz.

We’d like to say thank you to everyone who participated in ’Ard Boyz from playing, judging, writing scenarios and running these events in their local communities, and invite you to join us in the future as we introduce new events to enjoy later this year.

I'd believe them if they didn't have a rep for cancelling this sort of thing and then not doing much.

Thats too bad -- I was going to try this out this year - 'dad schedule' permitting...

If they come up with something 'better'- I'll beleive it when I see it.

I prefer local stuff too.
