Hopefully they bring out their new codex for you so you can stick with them for a while! Doesn't matter. I'm in for the long haul. My problem is I just lose interest. I figure I'll have enough to build and I have so much going on the next few months it won't be until July or maybe August before I see 1850 on a table. I'll be able to field 750 at least but ot til prolly End of May maybe June between moving and going on a cruise and my wife's 40th B-day. So yeah....I'm sticking around. I miss you ass clowns and the game. And hoping 6th Edition really kicks the interest back into the game hard core.

| Don't feel too bad about losing interest. I was at CagBash and that was the first time I had played 40k in 2 years! But, I still want to play every once in a while, so that's why I still have my armies. That and I'm still painting LOL | |

| Come on, CJ. Tau are gimped enough, without you fielding some of the worst units. Why not add in some sniper drones to round it out.
Railheads, Broadsides, and Crisis Suits are what you need. And, you need as many as you can get. To this end, you need to squeeze every last point you can.
Drop the stealth suits. They don't do anything the rest of your army does in spades. S5 shooting is everywhere, and 30 is too much to pay for a marker light. You're better off with more shooting. If you want marker lights, buy pathfinders. Put your fire warriors in the pathfinders' fishes.
Demote the bodyguards to regular fire knives and dump all seekers. Put your suits in units of two. That way, they will never need to roll their crapy Ld.
You need either more Broadsides or some Railheads. For gods' sakes, man, a Sky Ray!? Really!? I thought you said competitive. Anyway, you need some shield drones for your Broadsides. Make one a leader and buy it the drones, a bonding knife, and a hard wired target lock. Then just pick either the Advanced Stabalization System or Targeting array. Each has merit. I like being able to move and shoot.
Anyway, just my thoughts. I'm glad you have Piranhas in your list. So underestimated.

This was close to my origional list. I wanted 1 squad of Deathrain to help protect my Gun Platform.
All dumbfish Fire squads will come on for reserve rolls and the 6 man by itself will deploy near the Pathfinders and go play some games and offer theirselves up to the greater good to either a)Take and hold b)Hold up some big untis for a round c)protect my marker lights.
Pirahna's will be the Broadsides BFF's and the rest of the Crisis gang will jump in and out using the terrain or skimmers as cover saves.
So the game plan is to mow down the enemy with my firepower, contest or take at the last minute....and hope to bring a win to the greater good.
I'd throw some Kroot in there for speed bumps but I would prefer the guns and sacrafice the footsloggin dumbfish stealing xeno sob's to hold them off.

| I like it better. (My son plays Tau, and I have played against them a lot) If you have the points put Flechette Dischargers on those Devilfish - and especially on the Pirhana (even on just one in the squad) Orks & Nids hate those things. Use those pirhanas to block.
I have heard that SkyRays wil be better in the new codex/edition - so paint it up and put it in reserve!!

| I was looking at the Tau FAQ and I noticed that they changed the way you buy Piranhas. Some upgrades are by model and others like disruption pods and Flachette Dischargers are for the squadron. So you only pay for thos once. Saves some points at least. | |

| yeah if I had to choose tho, Disruption pods it would be.
I was looking at the past tournies in town here and not too many ork and there were zero nid armies.
So until I get a preview of what I would be facing, 'Ruption Pods for the win!
