| There is a reason that most webpages have a light background with dark text. It is easy on the eyes and provides good contrast. While I do appreciate the contrast between white on black, I think it would have worked much better the other way around.
PS. In case you do not know this as a person gets older dark gets darker, and darker, and darker so when a webpage is dark it can be very hard on the eyes. | |

| There is actually a solution to this that will not precipitate us having to change the colors, and you can have something that is easier to see, not just on this site, but on every site you go to, and from the sounds of it, that may be worth your while to do this. Anyhow, this is for the browser Firefox ( http://www.mozilla.org - this is free, and for the most part, more secure than IE). Once you have Firefox, if you didn't already, go to the Tools menu item, and go to Options. Under the Content section (along the top of the box that comes up when you click Tools, third from the left), you will see an button called "Colors". Click on that, and there will be a checkbox that says "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above". Remove the check in the box, click ok, then click ok in the Options box. That will change our colors to Text: Black and Background: White (if that's what you choose). To see what the box looks like, see the image below: I tried looking at IE to see if they had these same options, but could not find anything specific, and if you are using another browser, like Chrome or Safari, you would need to do a little research to find this functionality if it exists. This is what it looks like with those options (and no changes on the actual forum: | |
