PostSubject: Circle Orboros - New pics   Wed Jun 27, 2012 4:48 pm

Again, I posted this at Prime Generation, but thought I'd share here. Some of these I've posted before, but I'm trying to take pictures in a light box to make them look a little more true to life.

I've got a few more I need to take pictures of as well...

Celestial Fulcrum:

The new Warpwolf Alpha plastic:

Druids (all of them have this scheme for the unit I have):

Ghetorix (probably the worst picture this time around):

Gnarlhorn:

Kaya and Cassius:

Megalith:

Megalith from the back (hopefully this shows the water effects on the base Smile ):

New plastic Feral:

Old Alpha Warpwolf:

Warpborn skinwalkers:

And the UA for the Wolves of Orboros:

I've got others I'll be taking pics of, but this is a start Smile

I like the UA, you did a fantastic job with them. Did you make the stump/depression in front of the leader from green stuff?

Thanks Smile No, I didn't do the base on that one, I believe it's a dragon forge base (blasted wasteland, maybe?). Just painted it Smile

Looking good, love the BE, very cool!

What do you think about the new plastic wolven? I hear mixed reactions. Yours look pretty nice, but the detail doesn't appear to be as good as the metal ones. Not sure why I get that impression exactly.

It might be the pictures. They actually have a whole heck of a lot of detail, and I like the plastic ferals way better than the metal ones (Once I get a little more time, I've got two that I've painted up I can post as a comparison).

They were easy to build, and fun to paint, so I did like them Smile

Looking good. Love wormwood, very cool models. Seems like you've got a TON of painted Circle, very cool to see everything painted up like this.

I think you're right about plastic vs metal, not seeing any obvious differences, what I think I was seeing earlier appears to be a result of design choices, rather than anything to do with the material.

I'm sure my pictures aren't doing the detail on the plastic warpwolves any service. In person you can see the differences a lot better. Now, between the metal and plastic Alpha there really isn't much detailing difference, it's the Ferals that have a ton more detail on the plastic.

I've actually got 58 Circle Orboros minis, all of them painted and based, and 56 Khador painted and based. I've got 6 minis I'm picking up tomorrow for Khador, and when the Conquest comes out, I will be getting it and applying my scheme to it Smile Also, I'm looking forward to the Griffon for Circle, as well as the Woldwrath, though I'm not sure when that will be coming out. For some reason, unlike my Vampire Counts, Space Marines, or Imperial Guard, I don't want any minis unpainted from my Warmachine or Hordes armies!

You pictures seem pretty nice, the backdrops are good, camera seems reasonable. Maybe a tweak to the lighting? It's not bad, but I've seen other people use a lot more, diffused.

Maybe because the PP armies are the size of some units for GW games? Smile
