| Hello everyone: I got the Dark Vengeance box set today. I am looking to trade the Chaos Warriors half for a second half of Blood Angels. Otherwise I would also be up for trading the Chaos Warriors for some Imperial Guard. If anyone would like to make a trade, drop me an email at winslm@yahoo.comMark | |

| I think Dark Vengence comes with Dark Angels, not Blood Angels. | |

| Ok... yah I am a fantasy guy trying to start out in 40k. I have not actually played a game yet. So are Dark Angels part of the Space Marines codex?
And yes I did not see the market thread way down there.

| There are hundreds of chapters of Space Marines. But, they all fall under a few books.
There are currently 7 codexes any given chapter can be built with.
Space Marines (a.k.a. Vanilla Marines) Blood Angels Dark Angels Space Wolves Black Templars Gray Knights Chaos Marines

| While BrianL is correct, I've also run the Dark Angels out of the regular Space Marine codex without any issues, if that's your thing. | |

| And that's the beauty of running a Space Marine army. It's yours. Meaning you can do whatever you want with it. My Black Templars will not be restricted to one Codex. I already have bits for a Blood Angel army and a Vulcan led Slamanders army. | |

| Thank you for the information. I think I am going to use vengeance models as a generic space marine ally detachment inside of the imperial guard army I am gluing. I am thinking of using the librarian as a second psyker, a tactical squad of 10 standard marines, and 5 terminators.
How do people feel about special characters? I was thinking of buying Creed for my IG general. The 24” command range seemed like a worthwhile upgrade.
How strict are people with WYSIWYG? I have some old Necromunda House Van Saar models I was going to use. They are armed with lasguns/plasma guns etc. like the normal IGs. Some of the Juvs look like teenagers and I was thinking of using them as conscripts. I have a Necromunda guy that looks like the IG psyker picture in the codex book, but not like the current model from GW.

Honestly this is going to vary from opponent to opponent. I don't care much about either one. In the case of special characters there are some specific ones I don't like to see since they're not very well balanced, but special characters in general are fine. I won't really get on someones case about using a special character unless I've personally seen that character absolutely own everything in sight. I think WYSIWYG is a rule designed to make extra money for GW. Most people seem pretty relaxed about it, going with if it looks like what it is, then it's fine. In your particular case, Necromunda guys as conscripts is perfect. Space Marines as conscripts is more likely to get a raised eyebrow, though I suspect you'd be fine in a casual game.
