Thought I'd show off my Riptide. I'm building a Farsight Enclave Splinter group and wanted a different take then the standard solid red and grey. Here all colors are represented and you have a dirty camo feel to it. Hope you enjoy!

You know, I didn't think a "dirty" look would work for tau. But, Dag gone, I'd say you pulled it off. Nice work CJ.

Not yet bro. Waiting til payday this week. Right now it's an expense I don't have the money for right now. We are on a countdown to move out and find a new place so just trying to finish current work and then bagging and tagging everything else to start getting some play in and prepped to be ready to move. I know I want a black and a red for sure. You think and can get that, the mineral thinner and a few brushes under $20 bucks?
I matt coated what I had done so far like one of the videos was showing.
I know they said gloss but I don't like shiney models..lol

Gloss is stronger. So, gloss twice then matte twice.

I got my Daemons tooled up to eat some fish heads, bro.

In this case CJ you use the gloss only to aid the flow of the oil technique. You then break the shine down by spraying with matte. I've brushed on gloss but my preferred method is to use future floor wax sprayed through an airbrush. Very cheap but needs to dry 24 hours. Gives a great layer to protect and aid the technique to follow. Also a great layer to add decals to eliminate shimmer.

Thanks for the tips John and Brian...I'll try that. I only use matt to protect what I've done as well as the base. So I'll do that.

Floor polish.....can you just spray it on???

Thanks Sean, I'm geeked about getting up there and playing some games here soon. I've been doing alot of playtesting on Vassal and tweaking my lists slowly.

Question....are we gearin Cagbash to 2k?? If that's the case, I need to get a list going for that as well. Not sure if that's whats being played out and about town or 1850
