I think the only reason they put the looted wagon in the new codex is because, many ork players took at least 1 looted Basilisk(very un-orky in my opinion), in third edition. I guess GW didn't want those players to have converted those models for nothing.

As far as my ending up with the model, it was in the bottom of the ork box I bought off CJ, I had no idea it was even in there, hence me selling it cheap.

Having said all that, yes the Orks are not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Dude, they're fucking Orks.

Ha! Thats the same reason why I love my guardsmen. If they miss a few shots, well the sarge slaps them on the back of the head and I move them six more inches up to form the first speed bump against the assaulters. After all if one guy misses one of the other 100 will hit. My leader's maxim is "I don't trust men, I trust numbers." Over all having a 70 point guard unit obliterated by 20 storm bolter shoots is a lot less stressful than making twenty or so armor saves from lasguns!! on those termies praying to the emperor you don't roll ones (if only two died I made my points back). My men have already accepted they are dead, now those space marines well... they actually have something to lose :p

Yes in some instances I would rather take a couple of the looted trukks.
Mainly for the range difference. Instnaces where I want the enemy to focus on the trukk then my boyz, with hopes that the shots taken at the loted vehicle keep shots off the ork boyz for a turn while they get into the thick of things. Depends on my strategy at the moment. And I'm an Ork at heart so what if they push the button that just gets em closer for next turn :-)

I just don't see an open topped 11 armor ANYTHING lasting that long. Besides if you cannot transport troops, the benifiets of moving with the "don't press that" rule, are minimal.

The extra 12" range and 8 str, would alow it to stay farther away.

I'm an Ork at heart as well, I have never played any other army. So, we should settle this the Ork way, on the battlefield. You bring 3 Looted Wagons with Boomguns, I'll bring 2 Gobsmashas.
