Warhammer 40K TEAM TOURNEY!!!! Nov. 15 EGC

1,000 Points per player
Teams must be at least allies of convenience.
Separate Force orgs
No Lords of War
Must be bound. 

Dice roll at Noon.  pairings will be done at 11:40 am. Because of the nature of teh event DO NOT BE LATE!!!! I will be at EGC at 10:30 so no excuse for leaving early to get there and set up!!! Assume there will be an accident on 275 and will be a parking lot, Winter cold weather people get stupid bound to happen.

In regards to the Relic amendment change "at the end of movement" to "at the end of any of your action phases" i.e.  If your unit was legally allowed to act in someway at the end of the phase you may pick up the relic.
EX 1:  After close combat you win combat and consolidate onto the relic you may pick up.
EX 2: You are charged and kill the entire unit in over watch you could not pick it up because you did act but could not move to pick it up.

I Have a Waaagh! Ork 1,000pt list and a Sentinels 1,000 point list.  I will field the one appropriate if i have to fill in or both together if i am a team of one....

Hey instead of running Allies of convenience is it possible to run "desperate Allies"

Just thinking it would be cool to add one eye open rule, and also would allow more different types of
factions to match up, which would open the door possibly for more people to sign on due to it not being as hard to pair people off due to what armies one may or may not have...

The one eye open rule would give you a individual game play experience even though you are running teams. I don't know just a thought.

I want to keep it pseudo fluffy.  If people show up with no partners I will match the best I can.

Pending I get the day off I'll run with your buddies SoB army... see if he wants elder or space marines as allies...

...and so am I reason being, is this could very well be a push towards the casual players due to the team factor instead of the power gaming.

I don't really have issue with power gaming, everything has its place.

I just really like all the missions listed in all the new books and would love to see them find a place some where in CAG. Starting team play would be a logical move in that direction hopefully

Mission 1: Strike and Hold!
Mission: Maelstrom of War
Battlefield: Vanguard Strike with 6 Objective Markers
Deployment: Roll for Warlord Traits then deploy as Normal.
Game Length: The game will go 6 turns or 2 hours then time will be called,

Victory Conditions:
Primary Objectives: Each player generates 5 Tactical Objectives at the start of his first turn. The table below shows the maximum number of Active Tactical Objectives a player can have at the start of each turn. If, at the start of his turn, a player has more Active Tactical Objectives than this number, he must discard Tactical Objectives of his choice until he has the correct number remaining. If, at the start of his turn, a player has fewer Active Tactical Objectives than the number shown in the table, he must instead generate new Tactical Objectives until he has the correct number.

Secondary Objectives: Slay the Warlord, Attrition, Line Breaker, First Blood
1VP for ea. FA unit killed, up to a maximum of 3 VP.
Bonus VP's:  If a rule gives you a VP you can never go above 15 VP for the game
Mission Special Rules:
Night Fighting, Mysterious Objectives, Reserves, Fast Recon (FA are Objective Secured)

Battlefield: Dawn of War with 6 Objective Markers
Deployment: Roll for Warlord Traits then deploy as Normal.
Game Length: The game will go 6 turns or 2 hours then time will be called

Victory Conditions:
Primary Objectives: Primary Drop: Only one of the Objective Markers includes the essential munitions that your army so desperately needs, referred to as the Primary Drop. The following rules apply:
•    Each time a model (friend or foe) ends its Movement phase within 1" of an Objective Marker, roll a D6. On the roll of a 1-5, remove the Objective marker from play – this crate is filled with non-essential material. On the roll of a 6, that model has found the Primary Drop. As soon as the Primary Drop is found, all other Objective Markers are immediately removed from play.  If five Objective Markers have been searched unsuccessfully, the sixth Objective Marker automatically becomes the Primary Drop.
•    The Primary Drop follows all other rules for the Relic on page 147 of the 40k Rulebook.
•    Only the model holding the Relic can score the relic.
Secondary Objectives: Slay the Warlord, Attrition, Line Breaker, First Blood

Minor Tweaks were done to existing missions that have been used. New missions to be worked on by new CAG Council starting in a few weeks.

Is mission 3 going to amend the "relic" rule where you can pick it up at the end of any phase, rather than just the movement phase?
