Hello guys, i saw a flyer at epic loot last night about a tournament (no I'm not running it) and thought I would post it here and it reads as follows:

$5.00 entry fee all goes towards prizes.
signup at 11:00, dice roll at 11:30

NO ALLIES!

30k armys allowed
forge world allowed with documentatiom

Please bring 4 paper copies of your army list
prizes: best general, best painted and best army composition.

That is it! if you have questions let me know ill try to get ahold of the right people and try to answer them the best i can

Floyd is running the event. It should be a fun day of games.
BTW I think No allies actually means only one Codex and not the literal no Allied Detachment.

Yeah, "NO ALLIES!" is unclear. What about dataslates? He may have intended "one Codex". Is there a way to get clarification on this?

it's on the 27th, and as far as allies go i have no clue... i just copied what was posted word for word. ill try find out though

I emailed the store and will post the reponce.

But it is pretty simply put on the poster. "No Allies".
It makes sense that if you run the assassins dataslate that is your only army.
However the other stuff is just formations they are not allies.

So one faction, but formations still allowed from the same faction as your dex?

That is the implication of the store comment. One Codex.

How'd the tournament go?

It went alright. 12 players showed and I enjoyed 2 of my 3 games, with my the 3rd game being against my buddy who had a bad attitude. We got beer after and all was well, though.

He basically played my AM army from the hobby shop tourney and had a bad day, mostly due to there being newer players not expecting what AM can do (especially pask and wyverns). Personally I feel there were 2 tougher eldar armies there (crimson hunter formation, and a list with 2 units of wraithguard in wave serpents), though they were in the hands of much newer players.

Really there was a bunch of newer players (or returning vets) and I wish that was known before hand so us vets could've came with softer lists.

Floyd was asking for feedback, and I have a lot I could offer, but I don't know how to get it to him.

They were saying they would be running tourneys the 4th saturday of every month, and I hope it can grow even more.

Yeah the store and Floyd were planning this for at least a month but they didn't post it until a week before it went off. I was waiting to post it here until it was actually announced. Still 12 players is a good turnout.
