Well, not exactly.

If you get enough wounds that he would HAVE to put one of those onto a special weapon (plasma or whatever) then yes the save on that man is specific, and would mean he loses him if failed.

This makes characters pretty good at hitting important squad members.

Could we see a resurgence of the power weapon toting I5 commander?

This is a nice way to tone down the use of min max las/plas squads as well as take some of the effectiveness away from the hidden powerfist. Now that powerfist isn't quite an 8 or 10 wound strength 8 blob and he might actually die during all the initiative assaults.

this is going to suck for Tau.....ok....sounds like Kroot for me.

now I know why they put out a Chaos Lord model with Jump Pack and twin Lightning Claws

IT won't suck for Tau much at all CJ.

Not compared to anyone relying on hidden power fists etc.

It will help the tau a ton with their fire warriors fire power due to s5 you can get a good amount of hitd and kill the nasty guns off quicker and leave a squad chargeing you

while it does help them slightly offensively. I was thinking more when they take hits.

They have less of the specialized equipment that most armies have. And thus will lose less concerning the new casualty stuff.
