Alot of energy he guys and seems a few have some time on their hands.

My point? ...go paint Wink

I believe a minimum requirement should be in order in regards to your army appearance. At least two flat colours. No basing requirement.

examples :
Running some Orks? Dark Angels green flesh and Boltgun weapons
Blood Angels? Blood Red power armour and Yellow chest icons
Necrons? Boltgun bodies and Scorpion cables
Tau? Purple armour and White heads/plates

No requirement for highlights or propa shading or inking or such. Just two pots of paint of your choice and again, no basing requirement as some folks like to do this at the very end.

Help each other out. Have a Hobbytown Painting Support Group one Saturday instead of gaming. Hell, box up your toys and paints and stop by the house. I'll help you with coverage
(please pleae preprime all minis)

OK then.. thoughts?

I have never played in a tourney for less than $20. Better prizes!!!
have a non refundable registration fee to say maybe $10 needed two weeks in advance of tourney then $10 on the day of the tourney. THAt way prizes can be bought and pizza money will be given that day.

$20 is not enough to break anyone who plays this game, squeeze a little more blood, but what it will do is give a more solid number of players in advance, and people will try harder to put more into there army building skills. Also with that kind of money it feels more legit and may just force me to take more time to PAINT.

With enough lead time people can save for the $20 as well!

If he knows the rules then fine, just didn't think he was up to speed from talking to him (especially on tournament style rulings).

Ok 1st off yes $20 can break peoples banks, 2nd no to the paint, its simple if i paint my space wolves or blood angels any time soon I will ruin them again(you know my dred). Im working on getting better by doing something simplier(yes skaven are easier to paint the sm not sure how but they are), and to point out on the money thing not always do you have any spare cash while playing this game, I spend what I have into adding more stuff in my army

I say twenty because if you want to be serious and play in the tourney you can take the time from now till then to save up that twenty. I guess it comes down to priorities, Tourney or minis? and yes twenty can be a lot sometimes but come on you don't have to play in the tourney.
And of course saying that that could go for the painting thing too, damn I hate hypocrites!!!
I hate myself... lol

You can get experience just by playing. Just try to play as many different peoples/armies as possible.

You can also learn a lot from the internet, as far as what people are running to be competitive and how they approach games.

Reading the way other players battle doesn't have to dictate exactly how you battle, but learning from others is the way to go. You'll stagnate as a player if you don't expose yourself to more.

You don't have to play like others, but you can learn from them.

tournaments are good, plenty of new people to play on the boards though (although few that have much tournament experience).

Mostly decent players none the less.

Im always looking to get a game in FrostWolf.

On the tourny I think battle points are better than the win all 3 set up. Allows more variety to be added to missions, with primary and secondary objectives you can get creative with missions.
