| Ia was just thinking about this as i was starting to repair my own, but how nasty will war walkers get with the new scouts rule??? or for that matter, pathfinders(snipers, super coversave, SCORING), or even tau pathfinders with rail rifles. | |

| War walkers? meh... maybe. they die SO quickly. however, i can see the value of pathfinders rising.. great becuase its my favorite unit! i mean come on.. 2+ cover if you have any sort of wall? goodness i love them. plus with scouts and infiltrate, i have never had a game where i couldnt find them in 2+, and if i have another unit however i have had instances where they were in 3+.
what will the new scouts rule be?

| The new scouts rule lets you stay in reserve and flank march onto the board. The issue with walkers is that as the 5th edition rules stand walkers must stand still in order to shoot all of their armaments. | |

I thought that was Infiltrators not Scouts? Ravenwing bikes are Scouts. TurboBoost off the flanks

| It's infiltrators and scouts. Or you can set them up as normal and get the scout move or infiltrate as you do now. Yeah, flank marching bikes will be sweet. I can do that with my bikers too. | |

| Yeah Kroot will be a cheep ruin-the-day for the rear support elements.
I'll be surprised if the 5th edition rules really will screw walkers so completely. Have they released all the information on walkers yet?

| indeed, but kroot is not tau in a spiritual sense. The hammerhead might as well be a manatee in the new rules and broadsides are terribly vulnerable to the new side edge charges. | |

| I think people who stick with Broadsides will be developing a plans on how Broadsides will advance or hand with Fire Warriors rather than hang out at the table edge. Although anyone with a 2+ isn't generally vulnerable.
Although if Eldar Warwalkers can do that offside appearances then in that case I'd say the broadsides could be very threatened by lance tech.
Over all it is not going to be pleasant for the Tau now that they can't comfortably lurk so far away with their Rail Cannons anymore. The 'guard will have a similar issue with Basilisks.
