I'm debating a PS3 JUST for this game, I beat all the others, so i should finish this one too...

They gave snake a mustache. Need I say more. Nothing will beat the third series cold war setting which imho should have been what most of the games were set in. Keep the anime bizzaro world crap.

I have played through most of the game. I am at a part were they revert back to an older game, bad graphics and all and I forgot what the controls are. Guess I am done till I get around to looking it up Sad

It looks like they just got lazy and put old code in as a filler.

I doubt they got lazy (the game was in development for a long time).

You just got your first dose of Kojima's crazy game design... it's about as hardcore and fanboy oriented as it gets.

MGS4 is definitely a game made for fans of the series, if this is your first jump into the series... expect to be disappointed/disoriented somewhat.

I played the original and the code they used was from the first. It took me a few attempts to remember how to get through there but I did. Now that I got passed it, I know why they did it, I just don't like it. If I wanted to play a game with poor graphics just for nostalgia, I would try to find my old system and drag out the origanl game and play it. I am guilty of doing that on occasion Smile

. But being old and lazy, I generally use an emulator and play the old games on my PC these days. The last thing I expected after all the hype about the PS3 and MGS4 was cheesey graphics in the middle that you cannot get around. The controls are from the first game as well. The rest of the game has been great so I am willing to forgive them that small section of the game Smile

Finally finished the solo game, way too many cut scenes but it was a great sense of achievement Smile
